C-reactive Protein and Homocysteine Predict Long-term Mortality in Young Ischemic Stroke Patients
Conclusions: There is an independent association between CRP and homocysteine levels obtained several years after ischemic stroke in young adults and subsequent mortality, even when adjusting for traditional risk factors. This association seems to continue for at least 12 years after the measurements.

The correlation between admission blood glucose and intravenous rt‐PA‐induced arterial recanalization in acute ischemic stroke: a multi‐centre TCD study
ConclusionHyperglycemia is associated with low rate of complete recanalization and poor clinical outcome in intravenous recombinant tissue‐plasminogen activator‐treated patients. Further studies are needed to evaluate whether lowering hyperglycemia is beneficial in the management of acute stroke patients.

Conclusions CEIS was associated with higher odds of ischemic stroke compared with isolated ICS and isolated ECS. Smoking and diabetes mellitus, major determinants of CEIS and isolated ICS, should be targeted in therapeutic strategies to reduce the risk of ischemic stroke.

AbstractRegulatory T cells (Tregs) play an immunosuppressive role in various diseases, yet their function remains controversial in stroke and obscure in diabetic stroke. In the present study, Tregs were found downregulated in the peripheral blood of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) stroke models and patients compared with controls.
