Increased stroke risk among patients with open-angle glaucoma: a 10-year follow-up cohort study.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients who were diagnosed with OAG were more likely to experience subsequent stroke than comparison group without OAG, and the risk was greater for older adults and males.

Changes in the prevalence of statin use in Germany - findings from national health interview and examination surveys 1997-1999 and 2008-2011.
CONCLUSION: The increase in the prevalence of statin use in Germany between the two national health surveys (1997-1999 and 2008-2011) reflects the implementation of current guideline recommendations without evidence for inequalities according to gender, education, type of health insurance or region of residence. These population-based data add to information on statin prescription obtained from statutory health insurance data. Periodontal Treatment and the Risks of Cardiovascular Disease in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Utilization of Hospice Care and Patient Characteristics Associated With Discharge to Hospice in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients (P6.263)
Conclusions:The rates of discharge to hospice following AIS have substantially grown in the past decade and at our institution 4.2% were discharged to hospice. These patients were older, had higher median NIHSS and more often had altered level of consciousness upon presentation. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is Associated with Improved Ischemic Stroke Outcomes (P4.312)

Diabetic microvascular complications and stroke risk in the Asian population in Taiwan: A population based case-control study (P6.290)
Conclusions:This study suggests that microvascular complications are significant stroke predictors, with a greater involvement for ischemic stroke than for hemorrhagic stroke. Multiple microvascular complications interactively increase the stroke risk. Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors and cardiovascular risks in patients with pre-existing heart failure
Conclusions
In this nationwide T2DM cohort, the risks of mortality and the combination of MI and ischaemic stroke were lower for patients receiving DPP-4 inhibitors than for those who did not receive such treatment. DPP-4 inhibitor use was not associated with a higher risk of hospitalisation for HF even in patients with pre-existing HF.
