TNF‐α inhibitor use and decreased risk for incident coronary events in rheumatoid arthritis patients
Conclusion: Use of TNF‐α inhibitors is associated with a decreased risk for CAD in RA; the risk decreases further with longterm use. This should be considered when weighing the risks versus benefits of these medications. © 2013 American College of Rheumatology.

The estimated frequency of antiphospholipid antibodies in patients with pregnancy morbidity, stroke, myocardial infarction, and deep vein thrombosis
Conclusion: It is difficult to determine the frequency of a “clinically significant aPL profile” in patients with aPL‐related clinical outcomes due to the lack of robust data. Our best estimates of the incidence of aPL‐associated events should be confirmed with appropriately designed population studies. © 2013 American College of Rheumatology.

Systemic lupus erythematosus is associated with a higher risk of cervical but not trochanteric hip fracture: A nationwide population‐based study
Conclusion:Patients with SLE are associated with a higher risk for cervical but not trochanteric HF and these two HFs have different risk factors. © 2013 by the American College of Rheumatology

Occurrence and relative risk of stroke in incident and prevalent contemporary rheumatoid arthritis
Conclusion The magnitude of stroke risk is lower than for ischaemic heart disease in RA, and the evolvement of this risk from RA diagnosis may be slower. This suggests different driving forces behind these two RA co-morbidities and has implications for the clinical follow-up of patients with RA.

Cardiovascular thromboembolic events associated with febuxostat: Investigation of cases from the FDA adverse event reporting system database
Conclusion: AERS indicated potential signals of febuxostat-associated cardiovascular thromboembolic events. AERS is not capable of establishing the causal link and detecting the true frequency of an adverse event associated with a drug. The positive IC value found in this study merits continued surveillance and assessment of cardiovascular thromboembolic events associated with Febuxostat.
