HDAC11 is related to breast cancer prognosis and inhibits invasion and proliferation of breast cancer cells
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, this study found that HDAC11 expression is positively correlated with the overall survival rate of patients. HDAC11 can inhibit the invasion and proliferation of breast cancer cells to a certain extent and can be used as a good prognosis marker.PMID:37559686 | PMC:PMC10408431

siRNA targeting < em > Atp5a1 < /em > gene encoding ATPase α, the ligand of Peg fimbriae, reduced < em > Salmonella < /em > Enteritidis adhesion
In this study, we identified the ATP synthase subunit alpha (ATPase α) as a ligand of Peg fimbriae using ligand blotting and mass spectrometry techniques. We confirmed the in vitro binding of ATPase α to the purified adhesive protein (PegD). Furthermore, we used siRNA to suppress the expression of ATPase α gene Atp5a1 inLeghorn male hepatoma (LMH) cells, which resulted in a significant reduction in the adhesion rate of S. Enteritidis to the cells (P < 0.05). The findings in this study provide insight into the mechanism of S. Enteritidis infection through Peg fimbriae and highlight the importance of ATPase α in the a...

Nanoparticle-mediated delivery of microRNAs-based therapies for treatment of disorders
Pathol Res Pract. 2023 Jul 3;248:154667. doi: 10.1016/j.prp.2023.154667. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTmiRNAs represent appropriate candidates for treatment of several disorders. However, safe and efficient delivery of these small-sized transcripts has been challenging. Nanoparticle-based delivery of miRNAs has been used for treatment of a variety of disorders, particularly cancers as well as ischemic stroke and pulmonary fibrosis. The wide range application of this type of therapy is based on the important roles of miRNAs in the regulation of cell behavior in physiological and pathological conditions. Besides, the ability...

Protein Kinase CK2 Promotes Proliferation, Abnormal Differentiation, and Proinflammatory Cytokine Production of Keratinocytes via Regulation of STAT3 and Akt Pathways in Psoriasis
Am J Pathol. 2023 May;193(5):567-578. doi: 10.1016/j.ajpath.2023.01.016.ABSTRACTProtein kinase CK2 is a constitutively active and ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine kinase that is closely associated with various types of cancers, autoimmune disorders, and inflammation. However, the role of CK2 in psoriasis remains unknown. Herein, the study indicated elevated expression of CK2 in skin lesions from patients with psoriasis and from psoriasis-like mice. In the psoriasis-like mouse model, the CK2-specific inhibitor CX-4945 ameliorated imiquimod-induced psoriasis symptoms with reduced proliferation, abnormal differentiatio...
