Time dependent p53 inhibition determines senescence attenuation and long term outcome after renal ischemia/reperfusion.
In this study we tested the hypothesis that p53 siRNA reduces I/R induced senescence and thereby improves kidney outcome. By comparing the impact of different treatment durations in a mouse model of renal I/R we found that repetitive administration of p53 siRNA during the first 14 days after I/R reduced the senescence load and ameliorated the post-ischemic phenotype. Prolonged application of p53 siRNA over a 26 day period after I/R however, did not provide any additional benefit for senescence reduction, but reversed some of the renoprotective effects of the early treatment. Blockage of CXCR2 suppresses tumor growth of intrahepatic cholangiocellular carcinoma
Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that blocking CXCR2 clearly suppressed the development of ICC. Blocking CXCR2 may be a promising therapeutic approach for ICC.

The effect of FoxO1 on the proliferation of rat mesangial cells under high glucose conditions
Conclusions Overexpression of FoxO1 caused upregulation of p27, which promoted cell cycle arrest and inhibited hyperproliferation of MCs induced by HG. Degradation of FoxO1 caused an increase in p27 and stimulated MC proliferation. These findings unveil part of the molecular mechanism of FoxO1 regulation of MC hyperproliferation induced by HG.

Abstract 3171: Overexpression of a cancer stem cell marker doublecortin-like kinase (DCLK1) leads to activation of inflammatory cascade during development of virus-induced hepatocellular carcinoma
Conclusions: DCLK1 overexpression appears to be intimately related to the activation of pro-inflammatory and MAPK signaling pathways during the development of virus-induced pre-neoplastic conditions and initiation of tumors in liver. Abstract Carbonyl reductase 1 (CBR1) expression level is related to tumor progression. Decreased CBR1 expression is associated with poor prognosis in ovarian cancer. We investigated the relationship between CBR1 expression level and malignant potential of ovarian cancer.
