Menaquinone-7 protects astrocytes by regulating mitochondrial function and inflammatory response under hypoxic conditions.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study is the first to confirm that MK-7 can protect astrocytes from hypoxia-induced cytotoxicity, possibly by inhibiting mitochondrial dysfunction and the expression of proinflammatory cytokines. Gas6 may also participate in these protective effects. PMID: 33090426 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

LncRNA UCA1 regulates cervical cancer survival and EMT occurrence by targeting miR-155.
CONCLUSIONS: UCA1 expression in cervical cancer is increased and related to patient survival and miR-155 expression is reduced. Lnc-RNA UCA1 regulates EMT occurrence in cervical cancer cells by targeting miR-155. PMID: 33090390 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Abnormal expression of Rap2A as a prognostic marker for human breast cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: Rap2A acted as a promotor in the development of BC. Our findings suggested that Rap2A might be a new potential therapeutic target marker for BC treatment. PMID: 33015796 [PubMed - in process]

OTX1 is a novel regulator of proliferation, migration, invasion and apoptosis in lung adenocarcinoma.
CONCLUSIONS: Silencing the OTX1 gene suppressed the proliferation, migration and invasion of NCI-H292 and XWLC cells, impeded the cell cycle transition from G2 to M phase, and accelerated apoptosis, revealing OTX1, a regulator of NSCLC, as a potential new therapeutic target. PMID: 33015792 [PubMed - in process]

Effect of lncRNA-BLACAT1 on drug resistance of non-small cell lung cancer cells in DDP chemotherapy by regulating cyclin D1 expression.
CONCLUSIONS: LncRNA-BLACAT1 regulates the expression of Cyclin D1, reduces the malignant phenotype of drug-resistant cells, and increases the sensitivity of lung cancer cells to DDP. PMID: 33015788 [PubMed - in process]

Significance of TRPS1 in the development and clinicopathologic of hepatocellular carcinoma.
CONCLUSIONS: TRPS1 plays a key role in the development of HCC and is closely associated with the clinicopathological parameters of HCC patients. Hence, it is proposed that TRPS1 may serve as a novel prognostic marker and a potential therapeutic target for HCC treatment. PMID: 33015773 [PubMed - in process]

Sirt7 protects chondrocytes degeneration in osteoarthritis via autophagy activation.
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, these findings suggested that Sirt7 was suppressed in the degenerated cartilage. Sirt7 deficiency does harm to the autophagy level, affecting CHs metabolism, while the upregulation of Sirt7 activated autophagy and protected CHs degeneration. An appropriate increase in autophagy can protect CHs but has no effect on Sirt7 expression. PMID: 33015765 [PubMed - in process]

LncRNA FGD5-AS1/miR-5590-3p axis facilitates the proliferation and metastasis of renal cell carcinoma through ERK/AKT signalling.
CONCLUSIONS: Mechanistically, lncRNA FGD5-AS1 can competitively interact with miR-5590-3p and regulate the downstream signalling of ErkAKT to enhance the malignancy of tumours. This lncRNA could become a potential target molecule for treating and diagnosing RCC. PMID: 32964964 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

TGF- β1/WISP1/Integrin-α interaction mediates human chondrocytes dedifferentiation.
CONCLUSIONS: TGF-β1 and WISP1 interact to induce CHs dedifferentiation, which was mainly by the mediation of the Integrin-αV subunit. On the contrary, Integrin-α5 shows a protective effect during the WISP1 caused CHs dedifferentiation. PMID: 32964955 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

KLF7 promotes macrophage activation by activating the NF- κB signaling pathway in epicardial adipose tissue in patients with coronary artery disease.
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, these results indicate that KLF7 enhances macrophage activation, mediated by JNK-NF-κB signaling pathways in EAT. This suggests that KLF7 may be a potential therapeutic target for cardiovascular diseases such as CAD. PMID: 32633394 [PubMed - in process]
