Clinical significance of SCCRO (DCUN1D1) in prostate cancer and its proliferation-inhibiting effect on Lncap cells.
CONCLUSIONS: SCCRO is associated with progression and prognosis of PC. After SCCRO gene was transferred, the growth of Lncap cells was inhibited, and ability of invasion and migration decreased by reducing the expression of FAK and MMP-2. SCCRO has potential to become a new target for the treatment of PC. PMID: 29077169 [PubMed - in process]

Functional impact of Galectin-3 and TRAIL expression in breast cancer cells.
CONCLUSIONS: The expression level of Galectin-3 in breast cancer tissues was significantly increased compared with that in normal tissues, while the level of TRAIL protein was significantly decreased in cancer tissue. The biological role of these two proteins seems to be synergistic in inhibiting apoptosis of cancer cells. Therefore, the evaluation method that combined both Galectin-3 and TRAIL is of great clinical value in the evaluation of clinical prognosis of patients with breast cancer. Down-regulation of survivin enhances paclitaxel-induced Hela cell apoptosis.
CONCLUSIONS: Down-regulation of survivin promoted paclitaxel-induced apoptosis of cervical cancer Hela cells. PMID: 28829489 [PubMed - in process]

Expression of miR-195 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and its effect on proliferation and apoptosis of Hep-2.
CONCLUSIONS: The expression of miR-195 was significantly decreased in laryngeal carcinoma tissues, which was closely related to the clinicopathological characteristics of LSCC. miR-195 may inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of Hep-2 by regulating Bcl-2 expression, which as an anti-oncogene could have the potential to be a therapeutic strategy in the treatment of LSCC. MicroRNA-200c exacerbates the ischemia/reperfusion injury of heart through targeting the glutaminase (GLS)-mediated glutamine metabolism.
CONCLUSIONS: This study reports an important function of miR-200c in the regulation of glutamine metabolism during ischemia/reperfusion injury and will contribute to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for the protection of IR. PMID: 28770953 [PubMed - in process]

The study on expression of CIAPIN1 interfering hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation and its mechanisms.
CONCLUSIONS: CIAPIN1 played an important role in the proliferation of liver cancer cells through increasing the expressions of cell cycle related proteins Cyclin D1, CDK2, CDK4, and Cyclin E. PMID: 28742201 [PubMed - in process]

Overexpression of β-arrestin2 induces G1-phase cell cycle arrest and suppresses tumorigenicity in renal cell carcinoma.
CONCLUSIONS: The overexpression of β-arrestin2 can inhibit the growth of RCC cells in vitro, and β-arrestin2 acts as a tumor suppressor gene in RCC. The main mechanism may directly suppress the phosphorylation of IkBa and indirectly suppress NFkB activation. Thus, β-arrestin2 is expected to be an important marker of RCC prognosis and a new therapeutic target. PMID: 28485809 [PubMed - in process]
