UDP-Glucose Ceramide Glycosyltransferase Contributes to the Proliferation and Glycolysis of Cervical Cancer Cells by Regulating the PI3K/AKT Pathway
CONCLUSION: The knockdown of UGCG exerted an anti-tumor effect against cervical cancer through the inactivation of the PI3K/AKT pathway.PMID:34686508

NGF Signaling Interacts With the Hippo/YAP Pathway to Regulate Cervical Cancer Progression
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is increasingly implicated in cervical cancer progression, but its mechanism in cervical cancer is unclear. Here, studies demonstrate that NGF inhibits the Hippo signaling pathway and activates Yes-associated protein (YAP) to induce cervical cancer cell proliferation and migration. Our results suggested that stimulation of NGF promoted cell growth and migration and activated YAP in HeLa and C-33A cell lines. The expression of YAP target genes (CTGF and ANKRD1) was upregulated after NGF treatment. The NGF inhibitor Ro 08-2750 and siRNA-mediated NGF receptor gene silencing suppressed HeLa and C-33A ...

Zileuton inhibits arachidonate-5-lipoxygenase to exert antitumor effects in preclinical cervical cancer models
ConclusionsOur work demonstrates that the ALOX5-5-HETE axis is activated in cervical cancer, with important roles in growth and survival, and this can be therapeutically targeted by zileuton. Our findings also provide preclinical evidence to assess the efficacy of zileuton in cervical cancer in clinical settings.

Helichrysetin inhibits gastric cancer growth by targeting c-Myc/PDHK1 axis-mediated energy metabolism reprogramming
Acta Pharmacol Sin. 2021 Aug 30. doi: 10.1038/s41401-021-00750-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHelichrysetin (HEL), a chalcone isolated from Alpinia katsumadai Hayata, has an antitumor activity in human lung and cervical cancers. However, the inhibitory effect and underlying mechanism of HEL in gastric cancer have not been elucidated. Here, HEL significantly inhibited the growth of gastric cancer MGC803 cells in vitro and in vivo. HEL decreased expression and transcriptional regulatory activity of c-Myc and mRNA expression of c-Myc target genes. HEL enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) and reduced gly...

Study on the effect and mechanism of NFKBIA on cervical cancer progress in vitro and in vivo
CONCLUSION: By inhibiting β-catenin-mediated transcription, NFKBIA functioning as a tumor suppressor might be introduced as a novel anti-metastatic agent for the treatment of targeted CC.PMID:34342105 | DOI:10.1111/jog.14947

Effects of miR-202-5p silencing PIK3CA gene expression on proliferation, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of cervical cancer SiHa cells through inhibiting PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway activation
In conclusion, the overexpression of miR-202-5p can suppress PIK3CA gene expression and the activation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway to suppress the proliferation, invasion, and EMT of cervical cancer.PMID:34244973 | DOI:10.1007/s11010-021-04211-4
