S100a9 inhibits Atg9a transcription and participates in suppression of autophagy in cardiomyocytes induced by β < sub > 1 < /sub > -adrenoceptor autoantibodies
CONCLUSION: Our research showed that β1-AAs increased S100a9 expression in cardiomyocytes and that S100a9 interacted with HIF-1α, which prevented HIF-1α from entering the nucleus normally, thus inhibiting the transcription of Atg9a. This resulted in autophagy inhibition and cardiac dysfunction.PMID:37723445 | PMC:PMC10506287 | DOI:10.1186/s11658-023-00486-1

Inhibition of PP2A ameliorates intervertebral disc degeneration by reducing annulus fibrosus cells apoptosis via p38/MAPK signal pathway
CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that the downregulation of PP2 A could reduce AF cell apoptosis and degeneration via the p38/MAPK pathway. It also revealed that the inhibition of PP2 A is expected to be a therapeutic target for IVDD.PMID:37722489 | DOI:10.1016/j.bbadis.2023.166888

Digoxin protects against intervertebral disc degeneration via TNF/NF- κB and LRP4 signaling
ConclusionThese findings suggest that digoxin may be a potential therapeutic agent for intervertebral disc degeneration through anti-catabolism and pro-anabolism. Digoxin might also work as an alternative for other inflammation-related diseases.

Deciphering the immunological and prognostic features of bladder cancer through platinum-resistance-related genes analysis and identifying potential therapeutic target P4HB
ConclusionOur study demonstrates that the PRR signatures are significantly associated with clinical-pathological features, the TIME, and prognostic features. The key PRR gene, P4HB, s a biomarker for the individualized treatment of BLCA patients.

TAT decorated siRNA polyplexes for inhalation delivery in anti-asthma therapy
Eur J Pharm Sci. 2023 Sep 16;190:106580. doi: 10.1016/j.ejps.2023.106580. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn this work, a novel protonable copolymer was designed to deliver siRNA through the inhalation route, as an innovative formulation for the management of asthma. This polycation was synthesized by derivatization of α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)D,L-aspartamide (PHEA) first with 1,2-Bis(3-aminopropylamino)ethane (bAPAE) and then with a proper amount of maleimide terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-MLB), with the aim to increase the superficial hydrophilicity of the system, allowing the diffusion trough the mucus layer. On...

Knockdown of LIMD2 inhibits the progression of ovarian carcinoma through ERK1/2 pathway
CONCLUSION: Knockdown of LIMD2 inhibits cell proliferation, migration, invasion and autophagy, and promotes the apoptosis through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway, suggesting that LIMD2-siRNA may be an effective molecule to prevent OC progression.PMID:37716918 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-023-08733-6

The siRNA-mediated knockdown of SNHG4 efficiently induced pro-apoptotic signaling and suppressed metastasis in SW1116 colorectal cancer cell line
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, SNHG4 promotes CRC by dysregulating apoptosis and cell migration, and shows significant prognostic potential for CRC.PMID:37715875 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-023-08742-5

Regulatory effect of zinc finger protein A20 on rheumatoid arthritis through NLRP3/Caspase-1 signaling axis mediating pyroptosis of HFLS- RA cells
In conclusion, this study is of great significance for understanding the role of the NLRP3-caspase-1-IL-1β/ pyroptosis signaling pathway in the occurrence and development of RA. It is expected that the results will provide a theoretical basis for the immune regulation of innate immunity in the occurrence and development of RA, while providing a new therapeutic target for the clinical treatment of RA.PMID:37715399 | DOI:10.14715/cmb/2023.69.8.27
