Vaccination coverage survey of children aged 1-3 years in Beijing, China, 2005-2021
CONCLUSION: The coverage level and service quality of routine immunization in Beijing were relatively high. However, as influenced by COVID-19 epidemics, both on-time and in-time vaccination rates decreased significantly, except for BCG and HepB. Under the background of COVID-19 pandemic, the keys to maintain high level of vaccination coverage include flexible immunization service time to ensure the guardians bringing their children for vaccination timely, and more attention from providers to the doses after children's first birthday.PMID:37709591 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.015

Francis Noreen Ahmed Alyson A. Kelvin John Paul Pezacki With the emergence of the novel betacoronavirus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), there has been an urgent need for the development of fast-acting antivirals, particularly in dealing with different variants of concern (VOC). Surgical Treatment of Sacral Pressure Injury in ambulating patients during the COVID-19 pandemic: A Prospective Cohort with Complications Analysis and Elaboration of a Surgical Treatment Protocol
The sudden increase of intensive care unit patients during the coronavirus pandemic led to an increase in the incidence of sacral pressure lesions. Despite being ambulating patients, in many cases the lesions were deep (Grade III and IV), mainly due to the long-term intubation and being bedridden during the pandemic. Most of these wounds necessitated surgical repair.

Acute motor-sensory axonal polyneuropathy variant of Guillain-Barr é syndrome with a thalamic lesion and COVID-19: a case report and discussion on mechanism
ConclusionThe AMSAN variant of GBS secondary to COVID-19 infection is severe and can cause extensive damage to the peripheral nerves system. The deterioration of symptoms in the patient after early immunotherapy may indicate treatment-related fluctuation (TRF) and could be attributed to immune rebound. Moreover, an excessive immune response post-COVID-19 infection may trigger concurrent damage to the central nervous system, indicating secondary harm to brain small blood vessels and nerve units. For suspected cases of GBS complicated by COVID-19, it is essential to conduct early brain MRI examinations in addition to routine...
