Low-MFI (median fluorescence intensity) pre-transplant DSA (donor specific antibodies) leading to anamnestic antibody mediated rejection in live-related donor kidney transplantation
We present two cases of live-related donor kidney transplants (LDKTs) with low-MFI pre-transplant DSA values who experienced an early acute antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) as a result of an anamnestic antibody response by DSA against HLA class II antibodies. These results were confirmed by retesting of both pre-transplant and post-transplant archived sera from patients as well as freshly obtained donor cells. Our examples indicate a possible ABMR in patients with low MFI pre-transplant DSA. Transport use limitations and its association with social participation among patients with stroke living in rural India
CONCLUSIONS: Independent use of different modes of transport, particularly public transportation, reduced among rural Indian stroke survivors. First Record, Distribution and Occurrence of A Protistan Entomopathogen, < em > Adelina mesnili < /em > Perez (Coccidia: Adeleidae) in the Indian Meal Moth, < em > Plodia interpunctella < /em > (H übner) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) Populations in Türkiye
CONCLUSION: The coccidian entomopathogen presented in this study is the first Adeleid coccidian record from P. interpunctella populations in Türkiye. The detection of Adelina mesnili Perez (Coccidia: Adeleidae) in at least three populations and the infection rate reaching 29.2 percent, confirms that this pathogen has a considerable effect P. interpunctella populations that cannot be underestimated. Silicone hydrogel versus hydrogel soft contact lenses for differences in patient-reported eye comfort and safety
CONCLUSIONS: The overall evidence for a difference between all included silicone hydrogel and hydrogel SCLs was of very low certainty, with most trials at high overall risk of bias. The majority of studies did not assess comfort using a validated instrument. There was insufficient evidence to support recommending one SCL material over the other. For extended wear, hydrogel SCL may have a lower risk of adverse events at 52 weeks compared to silicon hydrogel. Future well-designed trials are needed to generate high certainty evidence to further clarify differences in SCL material comfort and safety.PMID:37724689 | PMC:PMC1050...

Pyramiding resistance genes for bacterial leaf blight (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae) into the popular rice variety, Pratikshya through marker assisted backcrossing
CONCLUSION: The three-gene pyramided lines showed a high level of resistance to BLB infection and are anticipated to offer a significant yield advantage over the recipient parent Pratikshya. Functional status, social support, and anxiety among postnatal women of Eastern India
CONCLUSION: After six weeks of childbirth, most women only partially resumed their pre-pregnancy functional state. So, much more time, rest, and support from family members were needed to recover to a fully functional level.
