CircFOXN2 alleviates glucocorticoid- and tacrolimus-induced dyslipidemia by reducing FASN mRNA stability by binding to PTBP1 during liver transplantation
CONCLUSION: CircFOXN2 alleviated the dysregulation of lipid metabolism induced by the combination of TAC and Dex by modulating the PTBP1/FASN axis.PMID:37575056 | DOI:10.1152/ajpcell.00462.2022

Macronodular adrenal hyperplasia causing Cushing's syndrome due to ARMC5 gene mutation.
Orv Hetil. 2023 Aug 13;164(32):1271-1277. doi: 10.1556/650.2023.32817. Print 2023 Aug 13.ABSTRACTOur 69-year-old female patient was investigated for a 20 kg weight gain over 2 years. The patient's medical history included hypertension, hyperuricemia, bilateral cataract surgery and musculosceletal complaints. Diabetes mellitus was not found. Physical examination revealed abdominal obesity, proximal myopathy and atrophic, vulnerable skin. The "overnight", low-dose and long, low-dose dexamethasone suppression tests indicated autonomous cortisol overproduction (plasma cortisol level: 172.6 and 153.2 nmol/L, cut-off: 50 nmol/L)...

Study on the therapeutic effect of glucocorticoids on acute kidney injury in rats exposed to diquat
CONCLUSION: (1) Diquat can cause kidney damage in rats, mainly manifested as renal tubular atrophy, epithelial cell edema, capillary congestion and dilation, and the renal function damage indicators have been improved to varying degrees. (2) Glucocorticoids have therapeutic effects on acute kidney injury in rats exposed to diquat. During the treatment, the efficacy of glucocorticoids did not increase with increasing doses after reaching a dose of 4.2 mg/kg. (3) TLR4 receptor-mediated TLR4/Myd88/NF-κB signaling pathway is involved in the inflammatory response of acute kidney injury in diquat poisoning rats. Glucocorticoids...

Enhanced immune responses in dexamethasone immunosuppressed male rats supplemented with herbal extracts, chitosan nanoparticles, and their conjugates
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Aug 11:126170. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.126170. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNowadays, the world is challenged with highly contagious diseases, one of their preliminary virulence mechanisms is the suppression of innate immunity. Therefore, promoting natural immunity is a good precautionary strategy. we investigated and compared the effects of several natural herbal extracts -Moringa oleifera, Ziziphus spina christi, and Saussurea costus, and chitosan nanoparticles (CS NPs)- as well as conjugated extracts with CS NPs on the immunological parameters of dexamethasone immunosuppressed (IS) male r...
