Validation of diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and stroke in electronic medical records: a primary care cross-sectional study in Madrid, Spain (the e-MADVEVA Study)
Conclusion The validation results show that diagnoses of AMI and stroke in primary care EMRs constitute a helpful tool in epidemiological studies. The prevalence of AMI and stroke was lower than 2% in the population aged over 18 years.

ConclusionsOne in five patients with CS had PAF, which occurred at low burden and long after stroke. Future studies should determine the role of implantable cardiac monitors after stroke and determine the potential therapeutic benefit of OAC treatment of patients with PAF.

Diagnostic Yield of Prolonged Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring in Cryptogenic Stroke (P1.131)
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrates the diagnostic yield of cardiac rhythm monitoring of up to 30 days is significantly lower than previously reported. This may be secondary to differences in monitoring devices used, the variability in definition of cryptogenic stroke, and duration of monitoring.
