A cluster-analytic profiling of heroin-dependent patients based on level, clinical adequacy, and patient-desired adjustment of buprenorphine dosage during buprenorphine-naloxone maintenance treatment in sixteen Spanish centers
In the European Union, the non-medical use of opioids continues to be relatively rare (0.4% of the adult population), with heroin accounting for around 80% of the new opioid-related demands of treatment (EMCDDA, 2017a). At the national level, five countries account for more than three quarters of the estimated high-risk opioid users (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and United Kingdom). In Spain, high-risk opioid use decreased between 2007 and 2015, but heroin remains as the main substance linked to serious adverse health and social consequences (EMCDDA, 2017b).

Intrapretuvalisuse of Methadone, Buprenorphine and Buprenorphine-Naloxone in Patients Under Opioid Maintenance Treatment: A Cross-Sectional Multicentre Study
Conclusions: We offered new information on factors associated with intravenous OMT misuse, repeated misuse and ER admission in Italian patients under OMT. Our data indicate that BUP-NLX misuse is not different from that of BUP or MET. Choosing the more expensive BUP-NLX over MET will likely not lead to the expected reduction of the risk of injection misuse of the OMT. Instead of prescribing new and expensive OMT formulations, addiction unit physicians and medical personnel should better focus on patient ’s features that are associated with a higher likelihood of misuse. Care should be paid to concurrent benzodiazepine an...

Moderators of Career Calling and Job ‐Search Behaviors Among Unemployed Individuals
This study suggests that perceiving a calling is an important personal resource that is related to a clearer job‐search goal and to more intense job‐search activities and can support job seekers in personal adverse conditions. These results suggest integrating job‐search behavio rs in the work‐as‐calling theory and that incorporating the construct of calling into career counselors' practices may increase the efficacy of job‐search activities.

A GIS-based Quantitative Approach for the Search of Clandestine Graves, Italy.
Abstract Previous research on the RAG color-coded prioritization systems for the discovery of clandestine graves has not considered all the factors influencing the burial site choice within a GIS project. The goal of this technical note was to discuss a GIS-based quantitative approach for the search of clandestine graves. The method is based on cross-referenced RAG maps with cumulative suitability factors to host a burial, leading to the editing of different search scenarios for ground searches showing high-(Red), medium-(Amber), and low-(Green) priority areas. The application of this procedure allowed several out...

What People Search for When Browsing "Doctor Google." An Analysis of Search Trends in Italy after the Law on Pain.
Authors: Miceli L, Bednarova R, Bednarova I, Rizzardo A, Cobianchi L, Dal Mas F, Biancuzzi H, Bove T, Dal Moro F, Zattoni F Abstract Italy adopted a law on chronic pain in March 2010, which focused on detection and management of this symptom, that affects approximately 25% of the population. The aim of this study is to analyze the interest of the Italian population in palliative care and chronic pain and to understand whether the Law 38/2010 made an impact on the internet search on chronic pain. Five research parameters were included using Google Trends (chronic pain, anti-inflammatory drugs, opioids, fibromyalgia,...

Quit smoking search interest in Google Trends from Turkey, UK, France, Italy, and Germany: What happened during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We aimed to evaluate whether Google search interest for smoking cessation has changed from 2018-2019 to 2020, during the pandemic days.Google trends search interest was examined for 2018, 2019, and 2020. Relative Search Volume Interest (RSV) for the term "quit smoking" was obtained from Google Trends. Statistics were given as median (IQR), and statistical analyses performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. We have found that average median (IQR) RSV values for Turkey were 34.50(28.12-40.00), for the UK were 58.50(51.62-65.00), for France were 43.00(35.00-52.00), for Italy were 56.50(50.12-65.00), and for Germany were 33.00(2...

A cross-cultural comparison of visual search strategies and response times in road hazard perception testing.
Abstract Road hazard perception is considered the most prominent higher-order cognitive skill related to traffic-accident involvement. Regional cultures and social rules that govern acceptable behavior may influence drivers' interpretation of a traffic situation and, consequently, the correct identification of potentially hazardous situations. Here, we aimed to compare hazard perception skills among four European countries that differ in their traffic culture, policies to reduce traffic risks, and fatal crashes: Ukraine, Italy, Spain, and Sweden. We developed a static hazard perception test in which driving scenes...

Are global R&D partnerships enough to increase a company's innovation performance? The role of search and integrative capacities
This study addresses this research gap by empirically analyzing the interrelation between global R&D partnerships, search and integrative capacities, and innovation performance. We tested our hypotheses on a sample of 112 medium-sized Italian firms with established GPs, leveraging a Partial Least Square (PLS) Structural Equation Model (SEM). Our results suggest that knowledge drawn from GPs plays a vital role in the innovation processes of the analyzed firms, but only when combined with the development of both of the internal sub-capacities we investigated (namely search and integrative capacities) thus, demonstrating an i...

Determinants of the Choice of Job Search Channels by the Unemployed Using a Multivariate Probit Model
AbstractWe investigate factors affecting the job search channels (newspapers, agency, informal network, direct contact, internet) of unemployed individuals in Italy using a multivariate probit model. We separately analyse unemployed individuals who lost their job or who are entering the labour market for the first time (i.e., with or without previous job experience, respectively). We use cross-sectional microdata covering the 2014 –2018 period. We do not find important differences in the determinants in common between unemployed individuals with and without previous job experience (such as, age, education, and citizenshi...
