Treatment goals in patients with post-stroke upper limb spasticity following injection of botulinum toxin  A : Results of the German-Austrian subgroup of the ULIS-II study.
CONCLUSION: A single injection of BoNT-A in adult patients with post-stroke spasticity of the arm led to a high response rate of approximately 80% in both cohorts. The BoNT-A injections in post-stroke adult patients contributed to an improvement in the daily life of patients and their carers beyond simple reduction of muscle tone or spasticity. Initiating anticoagulant therapy after ICH is associated with patient characteristics and treatment recommendations
ConclusionsClear treatment recommendations by attending stroke physicians significantly influence OAC initiation after ICH. OAC were more frequently recommended and started in younger patients with better functional recovery independent from intracranial complications. This might represent an important determinant of observed beneficial associations, hinting towards an indication bias which might affect observational analyses.

Risk factors in childhood arterial ischaemic stroke: Findings from a population-based study in Germany.
CONCLUSION: Although we could not identify common patterns of risk factor combinations, several risk factors occurred more likely in isolation than others. Further research should focus on the impact of isolated presumed childhood stroke risk factors like certain prothrombotic abnormalities, migraine or a patent foramen ovale.
