MRI findings in patients with acute coronary syndrome and unobstructed coronary arteries.
CONCLUSION: Our study emphasizes the diagnostic utility of timely MRI in patients with ACS and unobstructed coronary arteries. Early Magnetic Resonance Imaging Decreases Hospital Length of Stay in Patients with Ischemic Stroke
Imaging modalities are important part of stroke evaluation. Noncontrast head computed tomography (CT) is the initial imaging modality in acute stroke and although important to rule out acute hemorrhage and making a decision on thrombolytic treatment, ischemic changes may not be visible on CT for up to 24 hours. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain is an invaluable tool to confirm an ischemic stroke and facilitates stroke evaluation. Objective of this study was to investigate the correlation between time to MRI and length of hospital stay.

Recurrent cerebellar infarction associated with hereditary heterozygous protein C deficiency in a 35-year-old woman: A case report and genetic study on the pedigree.
In conclusion, the clinical manifestations of hereditary PROC deficiency may vary between individuals. The heterozygous mutation locus c.565C>T on the PROC gene is associated with thrombophilia. Awareness of the association between natural anticoagulants and thrombophilia may promote the prevention and therapy of stroke. PMID: 30210609 [PubMed]

A study of clinical, radiological and etiological profile of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis at a tertiary care center
ConclusionCVST is an important yet under recognized cause of intracranial hypertension and stroke in young. Clinical presentation is extremely varied and a high index of suspicion is needed. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) brain with Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) is the current diagnostic modality of choice. Elevated factor VIII and puerperium are the common etiologies in an Indian population. Management with anticoagulants is safe and has excellent clinical outcomes.

No Association between Thrombin Generation and Intra-Plaque Haemorrhage in Symptomatic Carotid Atherosclerotic Plaques: The Plaque at RISK (PARISK) Study.

T Cells Prevent Hemorrhagic Transformation in Ischemic Stroke by P-Selectin Binding.
CONCLUSIONS: The study identifies lymphopenia as a previously unrecognized risk factor for secondary hemorrhagic transformation in mice after severe ischemic stroke. T cells prevent hemorrhagic transformation by their capacity to bind platelets through P-selectin. The results highlight the role of T cells in bridging immunity and hemostasis in ischemic stroke. Thrombosed Aneurysm of the Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery and Lateral Medullary Ischemia as the Initial Presentation of Polyarteritis Nodosa: Case Report and Literature Review
A 27-year-old woman with a previously undiagnosed polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) developed lateral medullary stroke related to a thrombosed posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA)-origin aneurysm. A concurrent thrombosis of the PICA was identified on high-resolution 3-dimensional CUBE T1 magnetic resonance imaging sequence at 3  T. Body computed tomography angiography, magnetic resonance imaging–magnetic resonance angiography, and digital angiography revealed multiple tiny aneurysms of the visceral arteries and bilateral kidney infarcts.

The degree of leukoaraiosis predicts clinical outcomes and prognosis in patients with middle cerebral artery occlusion after intravenous thrombolysis.
In this study, we investigate whether the degree of LA is associated with clinical outcomes and prognosis of patients with middle cerebral artery occlusion following intravenous thrombolytic. Ninety-seven patients were recruited and divided into three groups based on the degree of LA (no, mild and moderate to severe LA) by the Fazekas scale. The risk of ischaemic stroke in primary antiphospholipid syndrome patients: a prospective study
ConclusionsPatients with PAPS, including young patients, have a high risk of recurrent thrombosis despite anticoagulation treatment. A careful risk assessment is mandatory to identify patients at risk for recurrence.

Safety and Efficacy of the New Micromesh-Covered Stent CGuard in Patients Undergoing Carotid Artery Stenting: Early Experience From a Single Centre.
CONCLUSIONS: The technical and clinical outcomes of this single centre study suggest that the CGuard may be a safe and effective device for endovascular treatment of symptomatic and asymptomatic subjects, independent of aortic arch anatomy.
