Clinical features, etiology, and prognosis of hand knob stroke: a case series
CONCLUSIONS: Hand knob stroke is a rare stroke with a good prognosis and a low stroke recurrence rate. Ischemic stroke is the predominant type and the main clinical manifestation is hand paresis. The cause of hand knob hemorrhage is hypertensive, while SVO and LAA are the main causes of hand knob infarction, but there are some rare etiologies.PMID:36056308 | DOI:10.1186/s12883-022-02858-0

Cryptogenic stroke in a young patient with heart disease and kidney failure.
CONCLUSIONS: Fabry's disease must be suspected in young males with heart disease, stroke or peripheral neuropathy, skin lesions, kidney failure and a history of cases in the family. CT perfusion and EEG patterns in patients with acute isolated aphasia in seizure-related stroke mimics
Stroke mimic (SM) is a set of conditions with clinical presentation similar to that of an acute ischemic stroke (AIS), albeit not caused by an ischemic event [1]. From 1% to 41% of patients presenting stroke-like symptoms at admission to the Emergency Department are actually SM [2]. The most common SM etiologies are seizure (38%), migraine with aura (37%), and conversion disorder (21%) [3]. Other conditions of SM are metabolic, infectious, neurodegenerative disorder, peripheral neuropathy and syncope [3].

Posterior circulation ischemic stroke in childhood and neurofibromatosis type 2
We report the clinical and genetic findings and review the previous literature on vasculopathy reported in association with NF2, with a focus on the symptoms presenting at disease onset. For our case patient, an unpublished germline mutation resulting in frameshift (c.876_877insT) was identified on blood screening. We report our full multidisciplinary assessment with vascular angiography, volumetric MRI and audiometry. Vasculopathy is not currently included in the criteria traditionally used for diagnosis of NF2. We suggest that vascular stroke in childhood may be considered a presenting symptom for NF2.

Recurrent Stroke-like Events Preceding the X-linked Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Diagnosis (P6.011)
CONCLUSIONS:The transient encephalopathic syndrome with focal paresis, dysarthria, and ataxia is an under recognized early presentation of CMT1X and it continues to be clinically challenging due to its rarity.
