Do Non-Functional Adrenal Adenomas Affect Metabolic Profile and Carotid Intima-Media Thickness? A Single Centre Study from Poland
Conclusions: Patients diagnosed with NFAIs, despite normal cortisol inhibition in the 1 mg dexamethasone test, still presented a number of metabolic abnormalities. The assessment of IMT may proove valuable in indicate the presence of early vascular remodelling in asymptomatic patients. Relevance of admission hyperglycaemia and diabetes mellitus to efficacy and safety of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients
CONCLUSIONS: Diabetes mellitus has a neutral effect on the angiographic and clinical outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients. It does not increase the risk of intracranial haemorrhage after instrumental therapy. It is admission hyperglycaemia, rather than diabetes mellitus, that is a predictor of poor functional status in patients treated with thrombectomy. According to our results, the patient's neurological status, age, and the outcome of thrombectomy are relevant to the functional status in the acute ischaemic stroke period.PMID:36394219 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2022.0063

Risk Factors Associated with All-Cause Death Among Dialysis Patients with Diabetes
CONCLUSIONS Deceased patients had higher HbA1c and fructosamine levels and higher comorbidity. However, history of stroke or transient ischemic attack was an independent risk factor of all-cause death, while regular physical activity was associated with the reduction of the risk of all-cause death in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes treated with peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis. A comparison of clinical characteristics, the in-hospital course, and 12-month prognosis in women and men with chronic coronary syndromes.
Conclusions: Women and men with CCS differ in the incidence of risk factors and revascularization treatments. Men were found to have a higher frequency of 12-month death and composite endpoint follow-up. However, sex is not independent predictor of 12-month outcomes.
