Immunosuppressive Polymeric Nanoparticles Targeting Dendritic Cells Alleviate Lupus Disease in < em > Fcgr2b < /em > < sup > -/- < /sup > Mice by Mediating Antigen-Specific Immune Tolerance
This study developed a new nanoparticle (NP) containing a biodegradable PDMAEMA-PLGA copolymer for target-oriented delivery to DCs in situ. PDMAEMA-PLGA NPs provided sustained drug release and exhibited immunosuppressive activity in FLT3L and GM-CSF-derived bone marrow in conventional DCs (BM-cDCs). Geniposide Alleviates Glucocorticoid-Induced Inhibition of Osteogenic Differentiation in MC3T3-E1 Cells by ERK Pathway
Conclusion In summary, we demonstrated that geniposide alleviated GC-induced osteogenic suppression in MC3T3-E1 cells. The effects of geniposide were at least partially associated with activating ERK signaling pathway via GLP-1 receptor. Dietary Vitamin D3 Deficiency Increases Resistance to Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis Infection in Mice
Conclusion Altogether, our results indicate that dietary VitD deficiency is able to decrease lesion growth and provide an increase in Th1 response in C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice upon L. (L.) amazonensis infection, although it does not decrease parasite burden in either of the murine models used. Thus, VitD may contribute to host susceptibility to murine tegumentary leishmaniasis. Further studies on the influence of immunonutrition in the leishmaniases are needed to better understand the immunobiology of these diseases. A 36–year–old army engineer returned from a 6–week deployment in Afghanistan. He had complained of upper respiratory tract infection even before his travel. On return he was found to be increasingly sleepy and later developed unsteadiness, slurred speech and confusion. IL-17-producing CD4-CD8- T cells are expanded in the peripheral blood, infiltrate salivary glands and are resistant to corticosteroids in patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome
Conclusions These findings appear to be of great interest since the identification of a peculiar T-cell subset with pro-inflammatory activity, but resistant to corticosteroids, in an autoimmune disorder such as SS may help to design new specific treatments for the disease.
