Radioiodine testing in clinical routine: Status in Germany 2021
CONCLUSIONS: The methodology of RJT in Germany is heterogeneous and still based on the "Marinelli method" in most institutions despite new guidelines and recommendations. A continuous measurement of the iodine kinetics using a wearable probe system could result in further improving the radioiodine test in addition to the newer calculation algorithms.PMID:35768004 | DOI:10.1055/a-1868-5116 (Source: Nuklearmedizin)

H ürthle Cell Carcinoma: Single Center Analysis and Considerations for Surgical Management Based on the Recent Literature
ConclusionsRecurrence of HCC was common in this study. Given the low rate of lymph node metastases both in this study and in recent literature and the nature of relapse (soft tissue instead of nodal metastasis), the benefit of routine prophylactic central lymph node dissection for HCC remains unclear, especially in the absence of vascular invasion from the primary tumor. Predictive Value of Clinical and Pathological Characteristics for Metastatic Radioactive Iodine-Refractory Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma: A 16-year Retrospective Study
ConclusionsFor TgAb-negative DTC, age over 40, extraglandular invasion, mutated BRAF gene, Sti-Tg decreased less than 43%, and Sup-Tg decreased less than 19% after the first two courses of RIT were independent predictors for RAIR-DTC. For TgAb-positive DTC, age over 55, extraglandular invasion, mutated BRAF gene, distant metastasis before RIT, TgAb level 14.8 times higher than the upper limit, TgAb dropped less than 46.4% after two courses of RIT were influencing factors. Retrospective Analysis of the Development of Human Thyroglobulin during Pregnancy in Patients with Treated Non-Recurrent Differentiated Thyroid Cancer
CONCLUSION: In women with ablative thyroid therapy after DTC, a temporary elevation in hTg levels during pregnancy may occur. The reason therefore remains unclear and requires further investigation.PMID:35735429 | DOI:10.3390/curroncol29060320 (Source: Current Oncology)
