Altitude Diving on a Closed Circuit Oxygen Rebreather
Undersea Hyperb Med. 2023 Fourth Quarter;50(4):391-393.ABSTRACTClosed-circuit rebreather diving is becoming more common. Rebreathers are complicated, adding to the stress of diving. Also adding to this complexity in the presented case is diving at a high-altitude, cold-water reservoir in Colorado. One diver experienced an oxygen-induced seizure at depth. The other diver had a rapid ascent with loss of consciousness. In this case, two experienced divers recovered from a possible devastating dive. Fortunately, they both returned to their pre-dive baseline health. Dive plan- ning is important, but as in this case, dive execut...

Etiologies and hearing status in bilateral vestibulopathy: a retrospective study of 315 patients
ConclusionBV is a heterogeneous condition, with over a third of cases remaining idiopathic, and nearly three-quarters affected by hearing loss. COCH mutation is the most common non-idiopathic cause of BV in our population. Only 21% of our BV patients presented with bilateral normal hearing. (Source: Frontiers in Neurology)

Milk fat miRNome changes in response to LPS challenge in Holstein cows
In conclusion, we demonstrated that milk fat might be an easy and rapid source of miRNAs that are potential indicators of early mastitis in cows.PMID:37993922 | PMC:PMC10666322 | DOI:10.1186/s13567-023-01231-4 (Source: Cell Research)

Changes in Physical Activity Associated With a Multicomponent Weight-Loss Randomized Controlled Trial for Youth With Intellectual Disabilities
Adapt Phys Activ Q. 2023 Nov 9:1-19. doi: 10.1123/apaq.2023-0030. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTYouth with intellectual disabilities engage in low levels of physical activity (PA). An aim of this family-based weight-loss behavioral intervention (FBBI) trial was to increase and sustain PA in these youth. Accelerometry data were available from 21 individuals with intellectual disabilities, age 14-22 years. Each completed the 6-month FBBI, after which 10 completed a 6-month maintenance intervention (FBBI-M), and 11 received no further intervention (FBBI-C). Twenty participated in a further 6-month follow-up. Accelerometry dat...
