Six unprecedented 2-(2-phenethyl)chromone dimers from agarwood of Aquilaria filaria
Fitoterapia. 2024 Mar 11:105905. doi: 10.1016/j.fitote.2024.105905. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSix new dimeric 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromones (1-6) were successfully isolated from the ethanol extract of agarwood of Aquilaria filaria from Philippines under HPLC-MS guidance. Compounds 1-6 are all dimers formed by linking 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone and flindersia 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone via a single ether bond, and the linkage site (C5-O-C8'') of compound 2 is extremely rare. A variety of spectroscopic methods were used to ascertain their structures, including extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analysis,...

Work-life balance and online student engagement among registered nurses enrolled in online graduate nursing education: a mixed methods study
CONCLUSION: Work-life balance facilitates better online student engagement among graduate nursing students and is influenced by time management, work (i.e. job environment and stressors), personal (i.e. home life and leisure activities), and university factors (i.e. curriculum, modality, and professors).IMPACT STATEMENT: Empirical evidence on the link between WLB and OSE can inform graduate nursing academics in developing initiatives to ensure the timely completion of the degree program.PMID:38478990 | DOI:10.1080/10376178.2024.2327350 (Source: Contemporary Nurse)

Promoting equitable and patient-centred care: an analysis of patient satisfaction in urban, rural and remote primary care sites in the Philippines
CONCLUSION: Our findings support the 'inverse equity hypothesis', where well-resourced urban communities quickly adopt complex health interventions while rural and remote settings experience delays in effectively meeting patient needs and system demands. Extended intervention periods and targeted strategies may be necessary to impact patient satisfaction in underserved areas considerably.PMID:38448041 | DOI:10.1136/bmjoq-2023-002483 (Source: Rural Remote Health)

Landscaping analysis of immunization progress and program structures in selected middle income Southeast Asian countries
This study examined the performance and structures of national immunization program in five middle-income Southeast Asian countries - Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Viet Nam, and Myanmar, and analyzed how the different structures relate to the difference in program performance to identify effective strategies in the study countries that facilitated good immunization performance. Data were derived from published literature, and WHO/UNICEF/Gavi databases, with 2010 as the baseline year. UMICs Malaysia and Thailand maintained ≥90 % coverage from 2010 to 2020 and even during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. LMICs Viet Nam an...
