Chromosome-level genome assembly of Oncomelania hupensis: the intermediate snail host of Schistosoma japonicum
ConclusionsIntegrated use of multiple sequencing technologies, we have successfully constructed the genome at the chromosomal-level ofO. hupensis. These data will not only provide the compressive genomic information, but also benefit future work on population genetics of this snail as well as evolutional studies betweenS. japonicum and the snail host.Graphical Abstract (Source: Infectious Diseases of Poverty)

Radiation Oncology in the Philippines: Current State and Future Directions
CONCLUSIONS: Addressing these gaps in RT access will require in-depth study and multi-sectoral commitment aimed at establishing and implementing a nationwide framework for RT service delivery that can be readily adapted to varying regional needs. Despite many complex geographic, social, and economic obstacles, efforts by private and public sectors of society to provide ready access to RT services for all Filipinos continue to gain momentum.PMID:38405322 | PMC:PMC10885584 | DOI:10.1016/j.adro.2023.101354 (Source: Adv Data)

Delving Deeper Into Maternal COVID-19 Vaccination and Neonatal Outcomes —Reply
In Reply We appreciate the opportunity to address concerns raised by Hsieh and Wei about not controlling for several potential confounders in our recent study. First, we agree that adjustment for race and ethnicity is important for obtaining unbiased estimates of the association between maternal vaccination during pregnancy and adverse neonatal outcomes. Although individual-level information on race and ethnicity was unavailable, we did include in the propensity score an area-level measure of ethnic diversity (ie, proportion of the population who identified as a visible racial or ethnic minority in the 2016 Canadian Census...
