Should I Do Content Review While Taking Prerequisites?
Hi Everyone and thank you for your help! I am currently taking my Physics I, Organic Chemistry I, and an introductory biology course for my post bac (I was able to take the Gen Chem series, a few statistic courses, and an upper level biology course during my undergrad as a psych major). I had previously taken two introductory biology courses during high school for dual credit and it has been some time since then and one of the courses was a nonscience biology course (which won't fulfill the... BEST Course decision for Freshman and Sophomores in university
Hello, I am an incoming college freshman majoring in biology. This year I plan to take Physics 1 and 2 with lab, Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab, calculus for my first semester, and statistics next semester. During my sophomore year, I plan to take Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab, Genetics 1 and 2, and biochemistry. I have AP credits for biology and psychology. Is this the best course of action or should I be taking a class related to biology during freshman year? Or is this perfectly fine? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

DAT Breakdown (23 AA, 25 TS, 23 PAT)
PAT - 23 QR - 19 RC - 19 BIO - 30 GC - 24 OC - 22 TS - 25 AA - 23 Background: I took this exam right after my sophomore year in college (summer of sophomore year). I had just taken organic chemistry and microbiology. I had also taken general chemistry and biology during my freshman year. I have not taken biochemistry yet (but I don't think it was super necessary to do well on the DAT). Materials I used: DAT Booster was my main thing. I took most of my study material from booster. It... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

OAT Breakdown & Advice
OAT Breakdown: AA 380 & TS 380 I wrote my OAT recently, and would like to share my scores and experience, along with my study methods. I am a Human Biology and Psychology major, and even though I have experience from courses such as chemistry and biology, I have minimal knowledge of physics and organic chemistry. I would consider myself to be a strong calculus/functions student. Overall, I have a pretty high GPA (3.95) and am a hard worker. My AA score was 380, and my TS score was 380 as... Community College or 4 Year College Thoughts
I just need some seconds thoughts on this. My post bac semester starts in one week. I'll be taking biology anatomy and physiology parts I & II organic chemistry I & II, and Physics I & II. I decided to take bio a&p because I noticed I missed questions repeatedly in this area while studying for the MCAT and while going over the syllabus for the course at my college, I feel it will help me with the content gaps I suffer from and reinforce some of the information I have from prior bio courses... "Please briefly explain any low GPAs or poor grades."
Hello! I have one brief question. I have one C+ in organic chemistry (lol). I have an overall 3.9. When I get asked this question, do I have to explain the C+? I feel like it just happened during COVID when our class randomly switched online (it was a lab and that made no sense). I don't really have a way to explain it. It just sort of happened and I moved on and had a 4.0 every other semester. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

C in a repeated course - bring up in secondaries?
My freshman year I got a W in organic chemistry 1, and when I retook the class my sophomore year I got a C in it. However, in organic chemistry 2 I managed to get an A. Everything else since then has been A's with an occasional B. My questions would be - how much of a red flag would this be to schools? And should I bring this up in all of my secondaries (even in the ones where they don't ask for poor grades, i.e. "anything else?" prompts)? Input is much appreciated. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

One C during transcript repair - How big of a deal is this?
I got a C in Organic Chemistry the summer I got COVID (Summer 2022). It was an 8-week course and I was sick for a full two weeks, so that definitely made a dent. (You had to be afebrile for 72 hours to be permitted on campus and that fever would not budge for two weeks.) The issue with this is that I was working on transcript repair after getting a boatload of W's due to unrelated, now-resolved health problems. The past 1.5 years look great other than that one, ugly C! I took one other... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Inorganic Chemistry Required for HMS?
Hello, I am wondering if a course dedicated to Inorganic Chemistry is required to apply to Harvard Med School. The website says "Two years of chemistry (four courses) including inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry are required." but I'm not sure if it could include Gen Chem as inorganic chemistry. I have taken 2 semesters of Gen Chem, 2 semesters of Honors Organic Chemistry, and 1 semester of Biochem. Will that satisfy the requirement? Appreciate any help! Thank you. Missing Second Semester Organic Chemistry Lab
@Faha @Mr.Smile12 At my school, Organic Chemistry Lab was broken up into two 1.5 credit semester long lab courses. I completed the first semester, but during the second semester, I was under a large amount of stress due to a health scare involving my mother. At the same time, I was in a Biochemistry course that was extremely difficult, with half of the class dropping it after the first exam. As I needed Biochemistry to graduate, I reluctantly made the decision to withdraw from... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Terrible Undergrad GPA-improving my chances?
I studied biology in undergrad at UNC, and made very poor grades. I honestly did not take school as seriously as I should, and ended up with a 2.9 GPA. My science grades were very poor, the most embarrassing part being when I failed organic chemistry twice. I graduated in 2019 and have been working at a reputable Pharmaceutical company since. I have been diagnosed with ADHD (which, while doesn’t fully explain my poor grades, definitely contributed). I am feeling extremely unfulfilled... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
