Is the salary actually viable for survival while a practice is ramping up? PPG, 360 care etc other a percentage of collections which seems decent. UA is part of too many nursing-driven protocols at my shop. Cough and fatigue? ****in’ urinalysis. Epigastric abdominal pain? ****in’ urinalysis. Even some UA’s on chest pain’ers.

Anyone else's ED on fire?
Our LWBS is through the roof, wait times 7+ hours, patients are agitated and yelling.
Issues are: ED boarding, perceived lack of space to place new ED patients, underperforming physicians and nurses.
I could fix this situation in 1 week if given the power, yet admin (including physician "leadership") offers nothing.

I'm in an underserved(limited physicians) area which can have problems when trying to get specialty services. We have a wound care clinic, but it can be tough to get patients into it, or limited in how often they can be seen when they are set up. delaying dental, eye, other care until medical school??

Is Triage Gone?
I recently had to take a parent into the ED. As we all know if an EM doc is bringing somebody in, they are sick, it is bad.
Unfortunately it was a hospital I was not associated with, due to proximity of where they lived.
We check in, I mention I’m an EM doc and it’s bad. “Take a seat”
