Molecules, Vol. 27, Pages 8058: High-Throughput Metabolic Soft-Spot Identification in Liver Microsomes by LC/UV/MS: Application of a Single Variable Incubation Time Approach
ngliang Jiang CYP-mediated fast metabolism may lead to poor bioavailability, fast drug clearance and significant drug interaction. Thus, metabolic stability screening in human liver microsomes (HLM) followed by metabolic soft-spot identification (MSSID) is routinely conducted in drug discovery. Liver microsomal incubations of testing compounds with fixed single or multiple incubation time(s) and quantitative and qualitative analysis of metabolites using high-resolution mass spectrometry are routinely employed in MSSID assays. The major objective of this study was to develop and validate a simple, effective, and high-th...

Association between mirtazapine use and serious self-harm in people with depression: an active comparator cohort study using UK electronic health records
Conclusions There was no evidence for a difference in risk between mirtazapine and SSRIs or venlafaxine after accounting for baseline characteristics. The higher risk in the mirtazapine versus the amitriptyline group might reflect residual confounding if amitriptyline is avoided in people considered at risk of self-harm. Clinical implications Addressing baseline risk factors and careful monitoring might improve outcomes for people at risk of serious self-harm. (Source: Evidence-Based Mental Health)

Augmentation strategies for clozapine resistance: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: To conclude, based on the findings of the present systematic review and meta-analysis, it can be said that compared to other treatment strategies, clozapine non-responsive patients respond maximum to mirtazapine followed by ECT.PMID:36380513 | DOI:10.1017/neu.2022.30 (Source: Acta Neuropsychiatrica)
