IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 15457: Trends in Adolescent Substance Use: Analysis of HBSC Data for Four Eastern European Countries, 1994 & ndash;2018
Conclusions: The findings on the prevalence of substance use among adolescents from 1994 to 2018 revealed that the Baltic states and Poland have faced relatively different temporal trends. These countries might be facing new public health challenges in a near future, e.g., use of electronic cigarettes and cannabis use among adolescents. Clinical Utility of the Parent-Report Version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) in Latvian Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Practice
Conclusions: We suggest the SDQ be used in primary healthcare settings, where it can be an essential tool to help family physicians recognise children needing further specialised psychiatric evaluation. There is a need to assess the psychometric properties and validate the SDQ in a larger populational sample in Latvia, determine the population-specific cut-off scores, and reassess the performance of the scale in primary healthcare practice.PMID:36363556 | DOI:10.3390/medicina58111599 (Source: Medicina (Kaunas))

Role of multidimensional factors in the diagnosis and treatment of tonsillopharyngitis in primary care: a qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: General practitioners' decision regarding antibiotic prescribing is an unstable concept that differs between prescribers. The health care system could augment the experience of general practitioners through structural changes such as guidelines, availability of antibiotics, and available antibiotics package size.PMID:36333657 | DOI:10.1186/s12875-022-01881-x (Source: Primary Care)

Sixteen-year trends in adolescent consumption of sugar-sweetened soda in six European countries with a soda tax and comparison countries: a repeated cross-sectional survey analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Countries with a soda tax did not experience larger beneficial changes in post-tax adolescent consumption frequency of soda than comparison countries. Further studies, with different taxation types, are needed in the adolescent population.PMID:36321519 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980022002361 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)
