Efficacy and Safety of Preservative-free Latanoprost Eyedrops Compared with Preserved Prostaglandin Analogues in Patients with Open-angle Glaucoma
CONCLUSIONS: The effects of PF latanoprost on reducing IOP were comparable with those of benzalkonium chloride-preserved prostaglandin analogues, but side effects on the ocular surface were much less pronounced when PF latanoprost was used. With this efficacy, PF latanoprost could slow the progression of glaucoma by increasing patient compliance.PMID:34120423 | PMC:PMC8200585 | DOI:10.3341/kjo.2021.0010 (Source: Korean Journal of Ophthalmology : KJO)

The Effect of Medical Lowering of Intraocular Pressure on Peripapillary and Macular Blood Flow as Measured by Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography in Treatment-naive Eyes
Précis: Reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) by latanoprost in treatment-naive eyes is significantly correlated to an increase in vessel density (VD) at the optic nerve head (ONH). Purpose: To evaluate the effect of topical latanoprost on ocular microvasculature using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Patients and Methods: In this prospective case-control study, 26 eyes from 18 treatment-naive subjects in whom prostaglandin analogue (PGA) latanoprost 0.005% was initiated were included as cases. In 10 out of the 18 subjects, medication was initiated in only 1 eye; their contralateral unt...

PSS11 Comparing Patient's Compliance and Persistence on Prostaglandin Analogs Using Real-World Utilization Databases for the Treatment of OPEN-Angle Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension.
Patients with glaucoma who have lower rates of compliance are presumed to be at greater risk of developing progressive visual loss. Prostaglandin analogs (PGAs) are recommended as initial therapy to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients. This research aims to compare persistence and compliance on latanoprost, bimatoprost and travoprost, at various time points within a 12-month analysis period. (Source: Value in Health)

PSS4 A Cost Effectiveness Analysis of Latanoprost Monotherapy, Netarsudil Monotherapy and Fixed Dose Combination Latanoprost/Netarsudil in Management of Primary Open Angle Glaucoma in USA
Netarsudil and recently approved fixed dose combination (FDC) Netarsudil/Latanoprost have shown significant effect of lowering intra-ocular pressure in glaucoma comparable to most widely used prostaglandin analog, Latanoprost. This research aims to assess the cost-effectiveness of FDC Netarsudil/Latanoprost, monotherapy Netarsudil 0.02% and monotherapy Latanoprost 0.005% in reducing intra-ocular pressure (IOP). Sixty-one patients in BB group, 64 patients in latanoprost group, 59 patients in LTC group, and 58 healthy cases in control group were included. Intraocular pressures (IOP), ECDs, and CCTs of groups were recorded at initial (pre-treatment) period, first and third y...
