Recurrent acute retinal necrosis
Conclusion: Recurrent ARN can respond to aggressive treatment. Chorioretinal scars, such as from photocoagulation, may be potential sites of viral invasion during recurrences. Antiviral prophylaxis may be indicated for at-risk patients. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

A unilateral foveal vitelliform lesion in a choroideremia carrier
Conclusion: With its large size and foveal location the vitelliform lesion in this patient's left eye is an unusual manifestation in an otherwise common Rab escort protein-1 mutation carrier state, and its unilaterality fits the assumption of random X-chromosome inactivation. Disruption of the outer segments of the photoreceptors on optical coherence tomography as a feature of vitamin a deficiency
Conclusion: Disruption of the outer segments of the photoreceptors and the disappearance of the interdigitation zone on OCT may be helpful in recognition of vitamin A deficiency. Early detection and malnutrition evaluation are especially important in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders who may have several other underlying deficiencies. Treatment with either enteral or parenteral nutrition not only leads to resolution of visual symptoms but vastly improves their general condition and quality of life. Nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy after intravitreal aflibercept for age-related macular degeneration
Conclusion: Nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy is a rare complication of intravitreal injection and may be related to postinjection elevation in intraocular pressure. Monitoring of intraocular pressure postinjection with low-threshold for preinjection aqueous suppression or postinjection anterior chamber paracentesis for persistently elevated intraocular pressure is recommended in patients with a history of NAION. Retinal embolization after carotid echo doppler: a case report
Conclusion: Embolic occlusion of retinal arteries may be an extremely rare but serious complication associated with CDU, and patients and clinicians should be aware of it. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

Angiographic smokestack leakage not associated with central serous chorioretinopathy
Conclusion: This is the first published case series to the author's knowledge of ischemic retinopathy displaying a smokestack leakage pattern on fundus fluorescein angiography that is classically described with idiopathic central serous chorioretinopathy. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

Toxoplasmosis retinochoroiditis masquerading as endogenous endophthalmitis in a case of congenital long qt syndrome
Conclusion: To the authors' knowledge, this is the first reported case of acquired toxoplasmosis retinochoroiditis in an immunocompetent patient with congenital long QT syndrome masquerading as endogenous endophthalmitis. The association of congenital long QT syndrome and a recent cardiac procedure with a risk for endogenous endophthalmitis complicated the diagnosis, clinical course, and treatment options. Our case emphasizes the importance of a thorough patient history, comprehensive clinical examination, and supportive multimodal imaging that were used to characterize the infectious process and guide empirical treatm...

Combined pneumatic and enzymatic vitreolysis for severe cases of vitreomacular traction
Conclusion: Sequential, combined pneumatic and enzymatic vitreolysis resulted in VMT release in all 5 cases (4 cases by 28 days) and may be a potentially useful alternative to surgical intervention for refractory VMT cases. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

Vitrectomy + transscleral diode laser cyclopexy treatment for 360° traumatic cyclodialysis and hypotony maculopathy: case report
Conclusion: The combination of pars plana vitrectomy, supine positioning with gas endotamponade, and transscleral laser cyclopexy can successfully improve the visual and anatomical outcomes in patients with hypotony maculopathy and 360° traumatic cyclodialysis. Culture-positive acute postvitrectomy endophthalmitis in a silicone oil–filled eye
Conclusion: Culture-positive endophthalmitis in a silicone oil–filled eye has rarely been described in literature. The reported cases were culture-negative cases, possibly because they were cases of acute inflammatory reactions to silicone oil. In the present case, an otherwise healthy patient developed acute endophthalmitis after pars plana vitrectomy plus silicone oil tamponade. The case was successfully managed with conventional silicone oil removal, antibiotic injection, and silicone oil reinjection. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

Outer Retinal Abnormalities in a Patient with Danon Disease
Conclusion: Danon disease is caused by a primary deficiency in lysosomal associated membrane protein 2, an important constituent of the lysosomal membrane that plays a crucial role in the process of autophagy. It is possible that the findings of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography and adaptive optics retinal camera are early changes associated with the accumulation of autophagosomes and/or phagosomes due to lysosomal associated membrane protein 2 dysfunction in the photoreceptors, eventually followed by outer retinal degeneration, such as thinning of both the photoreceptor and retinal pigment epithelium layers...

The role of checkpoint inhibitors in paraneoplastic acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopathy: report of two cases
Conclusion: The development of paraneoplastic acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopathy in melanoma patients can be triggered by treatment with nivolumab. However, achieving tumor control, which may involve continuation of nivolumab, could be the key to success. (Source: Retinal Cases and Brief Reports)

Pattern dystrophy-like changes associated with a very high serum ferritin level in β-thalassemia major
Conclusion: Pattern dystrophy-like changes should be considered as a possible manifestation of retinal changes in patients with β-thalassemia major. Iron overload, which is indicated by a very high serum ferritin level, might have a role in the formation of this rare retinal manifestation in β-thalassemia major.
