The Impact of Anticoagulation on Indwelling Pleural Catheter Removal due to Pleurodesis in Patients with Malignant Pleural Effusion
Conclusions: We failed to demonstrate an association between anticoagulation and pleurodesis. We found that better performance status and chemotherapy or radiotherapy after IPC placement can increase the rate of pleurodesis and catheter removal.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Safety and Feasibility of a Novel Externally Cooled Bronchoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation Catheter for Ablation of Peripheral Lung Tumours: A First-In-Human Dose Escalation Study
Conclusion: Bronchoscopic RFA using an externally cooled catheter is feasible, appears safe, and achieves uniform ablation within the treatment zone. Uncontrolled escape of heated saline poses a major safety risk but can be prevented procedurally through neuromuscular blockade and by limiting irrigation.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Patterns of Interstitial Lung Disease and Prognosis in Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-Associated Vasculitis
Conclusions: Clinical characteristics and survival differ between subgroups defined by CT patterns. BAL fluid neutrophilia is an independent predictor of mortality among AAV-ILD patients, and therefore, the clinical utility of BAL at the time of AAV diagnosis should be considered.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Efficacy of Small versus Large-Bore Chest Drain in Pleural Infection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: This systematic review and meta-analysis provide the first synthesis of data on performance of SBD and LBD in management of pleural infection, and, overall, clinical outcomes and complications did not substantially differ, although the limited number of studies and the absence of dedicated randomized trials does limit the reliability of results.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Xpert MTB/RIF in the Diagnosis of Mediastinal Tuberculous Lymphadenitis by Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Needle Aspiration Techniques: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Xpert MTB/RIF shows a good accuracy in the diagnosis of mediastinal mycobacterial lymphadenitis by endosonographic needle aspiration techniques. It should be always recommended for suspected mediastinal tuberculosis.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Centrilobular Emphysema Is Associated with Pectoralis Muscle Reduction in Current Smokers without Airflow Limitation
Conclusions: The observed association between CLE and lower PM area suggests that susceptibility to skeletal muscle loss could be high in smokers with CLE even without COPD.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Deep Learning-Based Segmentation of Airway Morphology from Endobronchial Optical Coherence Tomography
Conclusion: EB-OCT imaging in conjunction with ResUNet, MultiResUNet, and Siamese network could automatically measure normal and diseased airway structure with an accurate performance.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Novel Image-Guided Flexible-Probe Transbronchial Microwave Ablation for Stage 1 Lung Cancer
Conclusions: Image-guided tMWA is a technically feasible approach for peripheral early-stage lung cancer but warrants further evaluation of safety and efficacy in larger cohorts.Respiration (Source: Respiration)

Feasibility and Safety of Endosonography-Guided Transvascular Needle Aspiration in the Diagnosis of Thoracic and Abdominal Lesions: A Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: EBUS/EUS-TVNA is feasible and probably safe when performed by experienced endoscopists in carefully selected patients. In view of the potential risks associated with the transvascular approach, especially the development of hematoma and pseudoaneurysm, the fanning technique was avoided, and the area of aspiration should be assessed by EUS for 3 min after each aspiration. Most importantly, EBUS/EUS-TVNA should only be performed if the results will impact the clinical management.Respiration (Source: Respiration)
