Efficacy of anterior middle superior alveolar nerve block given by computerized controlled local anesthesia delivery system (CCLAD) in the extraction of maxillary teeth ‐ a randomized controlled trial
The objective was to evaluate the efficacy of computerized-controlled local anesthesia Delivery (CCLAD) system for extraction of maxillary teeth using the Anterior Middle Superior Alveolar (AMSA) nerve block technique in comparison to injection with a self-aspirating syringe. Surgical management of peri ‐implantitis: a narrative review
ConclusionSurgical interventions for peri-implantitis appear effective at reducing clinical signs of inflammation in the short-term. There is no reliable evidence to determine which methods are most effective. Universal adoption of the 2017 World Workshop definition of peri-implantitis by future studies is a prerequisite for the development of standardised evidence-based protocols for the treatment of peri-implantitis. A case of synchronous malignant tumours in a parotid gland
AbstractSynchronous unilateral tumours within the parotid gland of differing histological type are rare, accounting for less than 1% of parotid gland neoplasms. Here we present a case of a primary tumour of the parotid gland alongside a synchronous metastasis at the same site, highlighting the diagnostic and treatment challenges present, especially where a core biopsy is unable to sample the multiple tumour types. Oral carcinoma cuniculatum, the great mimicker: Report of a challenging case and literature review
In conclusion, the wide variety of clinical presentations, lack of cytological atypia in most cases, and need for deep incisional biopsies make the diagnosis of OCC challenging. Radical surgery is the main therapeutic modality and local recurrence after initial treatment occurs in less than 20% of cases. Do children get dry socket? —The incidence and pattern of presentation of alveolar osteitis in children and adolescents following dental extractions
ConclusionsDespite the belief that AO rarely manifests in children, the incidence of paediatric AO in this study is in line with that of AO found in the adult literature. The literature is inconsistent and conflicting regarding current understanding of AO. As far as possible, an atraumatic approach to exodontia should be adopted.
