Intraoral salivary lymphoepithelial carcinoma: Clinicopathologic and immunophenotypic characterization of 3 examples indicates elevated PD-L1 expression
Intraoral salivary lymphoepithelial carcinoma (ISLEC) represents an uncommon malignancy with vastly understudied PD-L1 expression levels. Here, we present the clinicopathologic and immunophenotypic characteristics, including PD-L1, in a case series of ISLEC. Evaluation of EWSR1/FUS Rearrangements by FISH and NKX2.2 Immunoexpression in Simple Bone Cysts of the Jaw
Contemporary studies have identified recurrent rearrangements of EWSR1 or FUS with NFATC2 in extragnathic simple bone cysts (SBCs). We sought to investigate the presence of EWSR1 or FUS rearrangements and the immunophenotypic expression of NKX2.2 and CD99 in a series of SBCs of the jaw. Oral leiomyomatous hamartoma: presentation of 3 cases and review of the literature
Oral leiomyomatous hamartoma (OLH) is a rare lesion, with only 40 cases reported in the literature. It typically presents early in life as a nodule on the anterior maxillary alveolar tissues or the tongue. Its growth potential is limited, with few cases reaching dimensions>2.0 cm, and its microscopic composition includes an intact surface mucosa with an underlying fibrovascular stroma possessing an unencapsulated proliferation of smooth muscle fascicles. Excision is considered the definitive treatment. (Source: Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics)

A subpontine osteolytic lesion of the mandible
A 47-year old white female presented to a private oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with a mass in the subpontine edentulous area of previously extracted tooth #19 (left mandibular first molar). A fixed partial denture was present clinically, with abutments on the mandibular left second molar (#18) and the left mandibular second premolar (#20). A hygienic pontic replaced missing tooth #19. Exploring the Relationship between Quantity of Systematic Reviews and Quality of Evidence: An Orthognathic Surgery Based Study
Objectives: Orthognathic surgery is the most frequently published topic in maxillofacial surgery. Systematic reviews are considered the top of the evidence pyramid and are used as a basis for decision-making. This work aims to evaluate whether this type of study is not overly publicized in the case of orthognathic surgery, thereby obscuring existing knowledge. Methods: A review was conducted according to the guidelines of PRISMA and the Leiden Manifesto. GRADE approach was used to assess the level of evidence. (Source: Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics)

Amyloidosis initially only manifesting as oral mucosal hemorrhagic lesions: a case series report
Amyloidosis is a heterogeneous series of diseases associated with extracellular amyloid protein depositions, which can involve multiple organs and tissues, leading to tissue structure alterations and organ dysfunction. The most frequently involved site of oral amyloidosis is the tongue, and one of its characteristic clinical presentations is macroglossia. Here, we report three extremely rare cases of amyloidosis exclusively appearing as multiple blood blisters, petechiae, and ecchymoses of the oral mucosa, in the absence of common clinical manifestations of oral amyloidosis and systemic amyloidosis. The Use of Clear Aligners in Orthognathic Surgeries: A Case Series
Pre- and post-surgical fixed orthodontic appliances are the customary and standard practice for patients that are treatment planned for undergoing orthognathic surgery. Traditionally, most patients undergoing orthognathic surgeries have been in their late teens. While these patients still compose the greatest pool of the orthognathic surgery population, many patients are seeking orthognathic surgery later in life. This older patient population often has different concerns and goals than the younger patient population. (Source: Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics)
