The ugliness of disease and the beauty of segmentation: Toward the future of 3D education.
Segmentation is the process of dividing regions of an image into multiple segments, which correspond to different entities or parts of entities, with the purpose of simplifying the presentation of an image into something easier to visualize and analyze. Our objective was to segment different maxillofacial lesions and anomalies in CBCT scans for a 3D model. A retrospective review of existing CBCT scans that included jaw lesions or anomalies were selected. These scans were then anonymized and opened on Dragonfly 2022.1 (Build 1259). Radiographic diagnosis of intraosseous neurovascular jaw lesions in pediatric patients: a review of the literature
In the pediatric population, diagnosis of intraosseous neurovascular lesions can be challenging. It is essential to consider numerous diagnostic options due to the critical nature of both diagnostic and treatment approaches. This literature review considers neurovascular diagnostic possibilities, describing current procedures so that practitioners are aware of what is presently being reported in the literature. When these patients are treated through a multidisciplinary team-based approach, the obstacles to safe management can be reduced. SNAIL1 is involved in the control of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma
The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of SNAIL1, E-cadherin and N-cadherin immunoexpression in oral tongue carcinogenesis. In addition, we evaluated in vitro the impact of silencing of the nuclear transcription factor SNAIL1 on the viability, apoptosis, proliferation, migration, and invasion of SCC-9 and HSC-3 cells.
