Exploring the Relationship between Quantity of Systematic Reviews and Quality of Evidence: An Orthognathic Surgery Based Study

Objectives: Orthognathic surgery is the most frequently published topic in maxillofacial surgery. Systematic reviews are considered the top of the evidence pyramid and are used as a basis for decision-making. This work aims to evaluate whether this type of study is not overly publicized in the case of orthognathic surgery, thereby obscuring existing knowledge.Methods: A review was conducted according to the guidelines of PRISMA and the Leiden Manifesto. GRADE approach was used to assess the level of evidence.
