Associations between Intra-Pancreatic Fat Deposition, Pancreas Size, and Pancreatic Enzymes in Health and after an Attack of Acute Pancreatitis
Conclusion: Increased IPFD in individuals after an attack of pancreatitis is associated with reduced pancreas tail diameter, which is in turn associated with reduced circulating levels of pancreatic amylase. The relationship between IPFD and the exocrine pancreas warrants further investigations.Obes Facts (Source: Obesity Facts)

Changes in Work Ability after Weight-Loss Surgery: Results of a Longitudinal Study of Persons with Morbid Obesity before and after Bariatric Surgery
Discussion: The results suggest that weight-loss surgery has a positive impact on work ability, and indicate a predictive value for the extent of weight loss and dysfunctional eating behavior. Against our hypothesis and in contrast to former research, a predictive value for depressive symptoms and age was not revealed. Further research must show how interventions can support and maintain improvements in work ability after bariatric surgery, in order to reduce sick leave and unemployment in patients with preoperative morbid obesity.Obes Facts (Source: Obesity Facts)

Features of childhood growth, lifestyle and environment associated with a cardiometabolic risk score in young adults
Introduction: In young adults, the metabolic syndrome is rare. To better assess the risks for future cardiovascular disease, a cardiometabolic score can be used, ranking the disease risk in each subject. The score is a continuous variable summarising the individual z-scores for waist circumference, blood pressure, blood levels of glucose, triglycerides and HDL-cholesterol. Our main aim was to assess the association between early childhood growth and the cardiometabolic score in young adults. Methods: Study participants were recruited among subjects in the longitudinal population-based GrowUp 1990 Gothenburg study. Those w...

The Impact of COVID-19 Lockdown on Weight Loss Program in Infertile Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Women with Obesity
Conclusions: Although statistical significance has not been reached in the present study, we have shown that lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic has led to almost half lower BMI reduction despite adaptations and longer duration of the weight loss program. On average, BMI in the group of women that attended the program during lockdown was 3.7% lower after the end of the weight loss program. This means they did not reach the wanted 5% reduction which is known to improve fertility. We have also shown that weight reduction is the correct approach for treating infertile women with obesity, as almost 30% of those who reduced their...
