13. Sex Hormone Replacement Therapy and Bleeding Patterns among Adolescents and Young Adult Females with Prader-Willi Syndrome: A Retrospective Chart Review
Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a genetic imprinting syndrome associated with high rates of endocrinopathies such as growth hormone deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, and primary and central hypogonadism. True puberty is absent, delayed, or incomplete in many individuals with PWS, although premature adrenarche is common. The literature on hypogonadism in females with PWS is sparse and no guidelines exist for hypogonadism treatment. We aimed to characterize bleeding patterns and current practices of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in adolescent and young adult PWS females at a single center in order to inform the development...

14. The Effect of Race on Pediatric Ovarian Mass Surgical Management
While ovarian masses are common in the pediatric population, malignancy is not. Accordingly, ovarian sparing surgery is the recommended treatment modality for benign ovarian masses in this population. Current literature demonstrates that rates of ovarian sparing surgery differ greatly between hospital systems and surgical sub-specialties. In the adult literature, disparities in rates of fertility sparing surgery exist with women of lower socioeconomic status more likely to undergo hysterectomy for low grade gynecologic cancers compared to their higher socioeconomic status counterparts. Sexual and Reproductive Health in the United States, 2024: How will you vote?
As I write this editorial, it is one day after primary elections in the state of California. As is usual in most elections that you and I have ever voted in, not every candidate that we supported won. Today, some races remain too close to call. But the presidential primary race has not been one that is close —for either the democrat or the republican candidate—in most parts of the country. I understand that politics can be a contentious topic, and that even within families, there can be deeply felt political disagreements. (Source: Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology)

Vaginal Foreign Bodies
I appreciate that Drs. Lehembre-Shiah and Gomez Lobo recognized the need to prepare and write this review and discussion of diagnosis and management of vaginal foreign bodies.1 I have always felt that the topic of vaginal foreign bodies was under published in the medical literature and depended on information from early publications and case reports.2-4 It is, however, an important topic, especially because as pediatric and adolescent providers we are called upon to help in the care of these patients. Resident Education Curriculum in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology: The Short Curriculum 4.0
Exposure to pediatric and adolescent gynecology (PAG) varies across residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, and pediatrics, as well as both adolescent medicine and PAG fellowship programs. Nevertheless, these programs are responsible for training residents and fellows and providing opportunities to fulfill PAG learning objectives. To that end, the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG) has taken a leadership role in PAG trainee education by creating and maintaining this Short Curriculum.
