29. Comparison of Incidence and Severity of Depression in Adolescents with PCOS in an Academic Pediatric Hospital before and during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Adolescents with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are thought to be more susceptible to mental stress than their counterparts without PCOS. However, most of the literature describing the correlation between PCOS and depression is focused on adult women.Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a unique set of circumstances for adolescents that affected mental health, and has not yet been studied in adolescents with PCOS. The primary aim of this study is to analyze the differences in the incidence and severity of depression in adolescents with PCOS prior to and during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic from May 201...

30. Comparison of Signs & Symptoms among Pediatric Patients with Lichen Sclerosis (LS) & Vitiligo: Preliminary Findings from an Interdisciplinary Vulvar Dermatology Clinic
Differentiating pediatric vulvar lichen sclerosis versus vitiligo is a clinical challenge. For both conditions, patients often have a delayed or initial misdiagnosis. Both conditions classically present with hypopigmentation, while LS is more likely to present with symptoms such as pruritus, bleeding, and pain. We aim to add to the existing literature by comparing signs and symptoms in a cohort of patients with either conditions. (Source: Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology)

31. Complex Care in an Adolescent: Management of Molar Pregnancy, Malignancy, Maternal Complications, and Malformations
We present a case of an adolescent without known medical problems who presented to care for abnormal vaginal bleeding and was diagnosed and treated for complex medical conditions with consequences for her long-term health and fertility. This case highlights complexities adolescents face when accessing gynecologic and obstetric healthcare, the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of uterine anomalies, and challenges in appropriate long term counseling and medical follow-up as adolescents transition to adulthood. 32. Contraceptive decision-making of adolescents and young adults
With the changing political landscape, there is significant uncertainty regarding the future of reproductive autonomy. The purpose of this study is to better understand the factors adolescents and young adults (AYA) consider when choosing methods for contraception and/or menstrual management. This is especially pertinent considering the upcoming ballot issue on reproductive rights in Ohio. (Source: Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology)

34. Correlates of Endometriosis Diagnosis from Diagnostic Laparoscopy for Pelvic Pain in Transgender-Non Binary Patients
Endometriosis is estimated to affect 49-75% of adolescents with chronic pain who undergo laparoscopy. The prevalence of endometriosis in transgender-nonbinary (TGNB) adolescent and young adults (AYA) is estimated at 25% but data is limited. Interaction between gender dysphoria and pelvic pain have been poorly characterized. We aimed to describe the characteristics and rate of endometriosis in TGNB AYA patients who underwent diagnostic laparoscopy for pelvic pain at a single institution. 35. Creating HeartBEAT (Be an Educated Adolescent and Teen): Understanding Adolescent Health Needs in Children with Congenital Heart Disease
As lifesaving treatments advance, there is huge growth in the number of patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) entering adolescence. Adolescents experience pubertal changes and form their own social, gender, and sexual identities. This metamorphosis can be more complicated when managing a chronic health condition. The pediatric cardiology division at our institution aims to better serve the adolescents in the cardiology division in a multidisciplinary fashion. To guide the structure of care, our institution queried caregivers of children with CHD on the timing and needs for adolescent medicine and pediatric adolescen...

36. Cutaneous Mastocytosis Presenting as Isolated Unilateral Labial Swelling
Cutaneous mastocytosis (CM) is a rare disorder of pathologic accumulation of mast cells in the skin. It typically presents as multiple yellow-brown papules or plaques, or, less commonly, nodular lesions on the trunk, extremities, or scalp. Cutaneous symptoms include erythema, flushing, localized urticaria, swelling, dermatographism, or blister formation. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Systemic symptoms can be triggered by temperature changes, exercise, hot baths, emotional stress, or certain medications. (Source: Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology)

37. Development and Evaluation of “Period Kits” for Adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Pediatric patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including autism and others, experience greater unmet medical service needs and decreased satisfaction with care compared to those without these diagnoses. Gynecologic services are similarly impacted. There are currently no evidence-based, comprehensive resources widely available to prepare young adolescents with IDD and their families for menarche, a potentially challenging life transition. 39. Do adolescents with disabilities have lower rates of STI screening than non-disabled peers?
It is well established that individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities are at increased risk of sexual abuse and experience a higher prevalence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) compared to individuals without disabilities. Despite this, there is a paucity of data on whether these groups are screened for STIs at the same rate. The aim of this study was to determine whether adolescents and young adults (YA) with disabilities undergo routine screening for gonorrhea and chlamydia at lower rates compared to individuals without disabilities. 40. Dysmenorrhea and Chronic Pelvic Pain amongst Adolescents with Sickle Cell Disease: A Scoping Review
While the potential relationship between menstruation, vaso-occlusive pain crisis, and dysmenorrhea in patients with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) has been studied periodically, findings have been inconsistent. There are scarce treatment recommendations, particularly for adolescent populations. This rapid scoping review seeks to 1) examine the existing literature regarding dysmenorrhea and pelvic pain in adolescents with Sickle Cell Disease 2) understand current provider practices and 3) identify areas in need of further research to better serve the unique needs of this population in adolescent gynecology. 41. Dysmenorrhea and Quality of Life in Early Adolescents: A Prospective Mobile Application Study
Primary dysmenorrhea, menstrual pain occurring in the absence of pelvic pathology, typically starts in the first 3 years post-menarche as ovulatory cycles are established. Prior studies have generally been observational, cross-sectional, or retrospective leading to recall bias, and few have assessed the impact of dysmenorrhea in the early post-menarcheal years. The aim of this study was to prospectively characterize dysmenorrhea and global quality of life (QoL) during menses in early adolescents over 6-months. 42. Dysregulated Puberty in Panhypopituitarism
Panhypopituitarism among patients with optic nerve hypoplasia ranges from 6% to 82% (Oatman, McClellan, Olson,  et al., 2015). In keeping with hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction, pubertal disturbances like hypogonadotropic hypogonadism are logically anticipated. Current limited estimates indicate that among patients with optic nerve hypoplasia and panhypopituitarism, 40% of females have normal pubertal d evelopment (menarche from age 10.5 to 13 years) (Oatman, McClellan, Olson, et al., 2015). In a case series of 101 children with optic nerve hypoplasia and panhypopituitarism, 50% of subjects had gonadotropin defici...
