An international multicenter propensity ‐score matched and coarsened‐exact matched analysis comparing robotic versus laparoscopic partial liver resections of the anterolateral segments
ConclusionThis multicentre international combined PSM and CEM study showed that both RLR and LLR have equivalent perioperative outcomes when performed in selected patients at high-volume centres. The robotic approach was associated with significantly lower blood loss and allowed more surgeries to be completed in a minimally invasive fashion. Metal versus plastic stents for preoperative biliary drainage in patients with periampullary cancer: An updated systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsMS likely reduces re-interventions and direct costs. Further studies are needed to confirm the effects of MS on the outcomes. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences)

Steroid therapy still plays a crucial role and could serve as a bridge to the next promising treatments in patients with IgG4 ‐related sclerosing cholangitis: Results of a Japanese Nationwide Study
ConclusionSteroid therapy should be continued for no less than three years to reduce the risk of relapse, with use of preemptive measures taken around five years. The biliary drainage might not be mandatory. Steroid as 1st line therapy could serve as a bridge to further promising treatments. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences)

Clinical outcomes of organ ‐preserving pancreatectomy for benign or low‐grade malignant pancreatic tumors: A multicenter nationwide survey in Japan
ConclusionsMP may contribute to the improvement of postoperative quality of life for patients with pancreatic body low-malignant tumors, rather than PD or DP; however, reducing the incidence of short-term complications such as pancreatic fistula is a future challenge. Timing of operation in children with a prenatal diagnosis of choledochal cyst: A single ‐center retrospective study
ConclusionWe maintain that it is advantageous to receive surgical treatment in the asymptomatic period for patients with a prenatally diagnosed choledochal cyst. A cyst size of length>  5.2 cm and width>  4.1 cm suggested that clinical symptoms might appear, and that surgery should be carried out as soon as possible, even in the neonatal period. Prognosis following an extended duration of adjuvant gemcitabine plus S ‐1 chemotherapy in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: analysis using inverse probability of treatment weighting
ConclusionExtended duration ( ≥30 weeks) of adjuvant GS chemotherapy in patients with PDAC was associated with an improved prognosis. These findings warrant a further prospective trial on PDAC to investigate the survival benefit of extended adjuvant chemotherapy. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences)
