Smooth round silicone gel implants in retropectoral augmentation mammaplasty: any aesthetic outcome can be achieved without texturization
ConclusionsWith proper device selection and good surgical technique, any aesthetic outcome can be achieved in retropectoral placement while keeping also prioritizing patient safety. Moderate and moderate plus profile underfilled implants are recommended when anatomical results are intended.Level of evidence: Level IV, Therapeutic. (Source: European Journal of Plastic Surgery)

Diagonal upper gracilis (DUG) flap for autologous breast reconstruction: a case series
ConclusionsThe DUG flap is an improvement of the TUG flap, providing more tissue and easier donor site closure. This makes it a valuable option for breast reconstruction in women whose abdomen is not available as a donor site. In bilateral cases, it has the advantage over gluteal and lumbar flaps, that both breasts can be reconstructed in one procedure. Disadvantages include donor site problems and a high need for additional lipofilling procedures. Technical refinements of the procedure are being discussed.Level of evidence: Level IV, Therapeutic  study (Source: European Journal of Plastic Surgery)

The body perception, resilience, and distress symptoms in candidates for bariatric surgery and post bariatric surgery
ConclusionsWe defined the parameters of resilience as a sort of psycho-marker that, for the same as discomfort indices, can orientate the clinicians to allow them to properly assess the patient ’s psychological suitability for the surgery.Level of evidence:Not gradable. Use of auricular versus costal cartilaginous grafts for secondary rhinoplasty procedures: comparison of long-term outcomes
ConclusionsThis effort is the first to compare grafting of auricular and costal cartilage in secondary rhinoplasty procedures. Implants from the 5th rib are preferential to ensure satisfactory long-term outcomes and durable, natural aesthetics in patients lacking septal cartilage.Level of evidence: Level V, Therapeutic. Association of trigger finger release with extracorporeal constriction: a retrospective review of operated cases
ConclusionsWe conclude that any form of extrinsic mechanical constriction of fingers associated with rings increases the risk for developing one of the most common hand conditions worldwide; this may be relevant for reassessing disease-related risk.Level of evidence: Level IV, risk/prognostic. Capsular neuroma causing chronic pain in women with breast implants
ConclusionsA sound understanding of sensory innervation of the breast is paramount to the initial surgery, followed by a comprehensive diagnostic workup of chronic breast pain. This case series highlights the importance of assessing and diagnosing post-operative neurogenic chronic breast pain in aesthetic reconstructive patients. The onset and symptoms have great variability, but preceding traumatic events after surgery at some point in time are key to the timeline. Once underlying medical causes have been excluded, comprehensive imaging modalities and conservative therapy should be sought before surgical intervention for r...

3D soft tissue printing —from vision to reality—review of current concepts
ConclusionsDue to the importance of 3D bioprinting and the never-ending progress in this field and its contribution to the field of medicine in term of clinical implementations, we believe that surgeons and physicians alike should familiarize themselves with the basic concepts of 3D-bio printing in order to keep track of the ever-growing literature of this fascinating sphere. We believe that a stepwise exposure of young physicians to this field is mandatory, from their basic science training through their internship and continuing advanced education.Level of evidence: Not gradable.
