Limited sampling strategy and population pharmacokinetic model of mycophenolic acid in pediatric patients with systemic lupus erythematosus: application of a double gamma absorption model with SAEM algorithm
ConclusionThe POPPK developed in this study adequately estimated the MPA AUC in pediatric patients with SLE based on three samples. Empagliflozin and colchicine in patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction following ST-elevation myocardial infarction: a randomized, double-blinded, three-arm parallel-group, controlled trial
ConclusionThis study showed that neither the combination treatment of empagliflozin 10 mg/day with colchicine nor the monotherapy of empagliflozin 25 mg/day was superior to empagliflozin 10 mg/day in terms of changes in clinical, inflammatory, and echocardiographic outcome parameters in patients with recent MI with reduced LVEF over 3 months. Risk factors for acute kidney injury associated with intravenous vancomycin in neurosurgical inpatients: a retrospective study
ConclusionThe incidence of VA-AKI in neurosurgical patients was 17.1%. The concomitant use of mannitol and loop diuretics, along with higher diastolic blood pressure and the combined use of more than three antimicrobial agents, were associated with an increased risk of neurosurgical VA-AKI. Buprenorphine plasma and cerebrospinal fluid concentrations in osteoarthritis patients during low-dose transdermal patch dosing
AbstractMethodsFifty-six (56) patients scheduled for arthroplasty, received 7-day extended-release buprenorphine transdermal patches (5 µg/h) for five consecutive weeks, starting two weeks prior to the surgery. Simultaneous plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were collected during spinal anesthesia.ResultsMedian buprenorphine plasma and CSF concentrations at steady-state were 54 pg/mL (range 8.6 – 167 pg/mL) and 1.6 pg/mL (0.30 – 7.3 pg/mL), respectively. Cytochrome P450 activity in rheumatoid arthritis patients during continuous IL-6 receptor antagonist therapy
ConclusionBased on sparse data from three patients, continuous anti-IL-6R therapy seems to cause an acute but transient increase in CYP3A4 activity in rheumatoid arthritis patients, which may be due to a normalization of the inflammation-suppressed CYP activity.
