Drug-drug interaction perpetrators of oxycodone in patients with cancer: frequency and clinical relevance
ConclusionA high frequency of pharmacologically and clinically relevant perpetrators of oxycodone was observed in our cohort. Moreover, a high number of double interactions involving oxycodone was registered. More intense monitoring of DDIs may be needed to improve medication safety of patients with cancer taking oxycodone. Effects of an intraoperative intravenous Bolus Dose of Dexmedetomidine on postoperative catheter-related bladder discomfort in male patients undergoing transurethral resection of bladder tumors: a randomized, double-blind, controlled trial
ConclusionThe effect of intravenous bolus doses of dexmedetomidine on postoperative CRBD was dose-independent, whereas intravenous administration of 0.5  µg/kg dexmedetomidine reduced the early postoperative incidence of CRBD with minimal side effects.Trial registrationClinical trial number and registry URL: ChiCTR 2,000,034,657,http://www.chictr.org.cn, date of registration: July 14, 2020. Effects of first-line nucleot(s)ide analogues on lipid profiles in patients with chronic hepatitis B: a network meta-analysis
ConclusionTDF was effective in lipid reduction, particularly pronounced in the older population. TAF and ETV had a neutral effect to TC, TG, LDL-C, and HDL-C. Despite a relative increase in lipids observed in patients transitioning from TDF to TAF or ETV, these changes remained within acceptable limits. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

Age of onset for increased dose-adjusted serum concentrations of antidepressants and association with sex and genotype: An observational study of 34,777 individuals
ConclusionThe age-related increase in C/D ratio starts in middle-aged adults and progresses up to more than twofold higher C/D ratio in the oldest old. Sertraline seems to be less prone to age-related changes in C/D ratio than the other antidepressants. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

Factors influencing methotrexate pharmacokinetics highlight the need for individualized dose adjustment: a systematic review
ConclusionsMethotrexate dosage regimens were primarily based on body surface area and renal function. Further studies are needed to evaluate MTX pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in both children (especially infants) and adults. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

The benefit of omeprazole exposure on all-cause mortality and length of ICU/hospital stay might vary with age in critically ill pediatric patients: A cohort study
ConclusionsThis study provided a sign that PPIs used only in the ICU, rather than throughout hospital stay, might provide more benefit for critically ill pediatric patients. Additionally, younger pediatric patients might gain relatively more benefit than older children when receiving PPIs. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

Effects of mirabegron on brown adipose tissue and metabolism in humans: A systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThrough our meta-analysis of 6 papers, we found that mirabegron has the potential to increase human BAT activity, REE, NEFA content, body temperature, HR, blood pressure, and blood insulin content. These effects may lead to reductions in blood glucose levels in obese/overweight and diabetic patients. Additionally, the activation of BAT by mirabegron could represent a novel approach for treating obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.Trial registration number and dateCRD42023413446, 04/11/2023.
