Platinum Sensitivity in < em > IDH1/2 < /em > mutated Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Not all "BRCAness" is Created Equal
Cancer Invest. 2023 Jul 28:1-11. doi: 10.1080/07357907.2023.2242957. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPreclinical data suggest that IDH1/2 mutations result in defective homologous recombination repair (HRR). We hypothesized that patients with IDH1/2mt intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IHCC) would benefit more from 1L platinum chemotherapy than patients with wildtype (WT) tumors. We performed a multicenter retrospective study of 81 patients with unresectable IHCC treated with 1L platinum with a primary endpoint of clinical benefit rate (CBR). Patients with IDH1/2mt tumors had a similar CBR and objective response rate compared t...

A nomogram for predicting survival in advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma patients: a population-based study
Cancer Invest. 2023 Jul 25:1-35. doi: 10.1080/07357907.2023.2241547. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNon-small cell lung cancer remains the most common malignant cancer. We identified 43140 advanced NSCLC patients from the SEER database to develop and validate a new prognostic model. The prognostic performance was evaluated by P value, concordance index, net reclassification index, integrated discrimination improvement, and decision curve analysis. The following variables were contained in the final prognostic model: age, sex, race, TNM stage, and grade and treatment options. Compared to the AJCC staging system, this prognos...

< em > In vitro and in vivo < /em > synergistic antitumor activity of albumin coated oleic acid-loaded liposomes toward hepatocellular carcinoma
This study aimed to assess the antitumor activity of oleic acid-liposomes (uncoated liposomes) upon coating with albumin against HCC. The in vitro studies revealed the high safety of the prepared uncoated and albumin-coated liposomes to normal HFB-4 cells (EC100 of 35.57 ± 0.17 and 79.133 ± 2.92 µM, respectively) with significant anticancer activity against HepG-2 cells with IC50 of 56.29 ± 0.91 and 26.74 ± 0.64 µM, respectively. The albumin-coated liposomes revealed superior apoptosis induction potential (80.7%) with significant upregulation of p53 gene expression ( >7.0-folds), compared to OA. The in vivo study ...
