Efficacy of Breast-Conserving Surgery Versus Modified Radical Surgery in the Treatment of Early Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: In the treatment of early breast cancer, breast-conserving surgery has the advantages of less bleeding, fewer clinical complications, and favorable cosmetic outcomes compared with modified radical surgery. Furthermore, patients with breast-conserving surgery showed comparable recurrence and distant metastatic rates to those with modified radical surgery in postoperative follow-up, which, therefore is a suitable treatment option for the widespread recommendation. The study's findings hold significant clinical relevance, implying that while BCT remains a viable option, MRM may offer a survival advantage. This ins...

Sensors, Vol. 24, Pages 2867: Antenna Booster Element for Multiband Operation
era The escalating demand for versatile wireless devices has fostered the need to reduce the antenna footprint to support the integration of multiple new functionalities. This poses a significant challenge for the Internet of things (IoT) antenna designers tasked with creating antennas capable of supporting multiband operation within physical constraints. This work aims to address this challenge by focusing on the optimization of an antenna booster element to achieve multiband performance, accomplished through the design of a band-reject filter. This proposal entails a printed circuit board (PCB) measuring 142 mm &...

Sensors, Vol. 24, Pages 2871: Smart Water Quality Monitoring with IoT Wireless Sensor Networks
ngo Traditional laboratory-based water quality monitoring and testing approaches are soon to be outdated, mainly because of the need for real-time feedback and immediate responses to emergencies. The more recent wireless sensor network (WSN)-based techniques are evolving to alleviate the problems of monitoring, coverage, and energy management, among others. The inclusion of the Internet of Things (IoT) in WSN techniques can further lead to their improvement in delivering, in real time, effective and efficient water-monitoring systems, reaping from the benefits of IoT wireless systems. However, they still suffer from th...

317. Exploring the Impact of Media Use on Brain and Psychopathology in Young Children
Media use has increased recently, raising concerns for children with excessive use. Internet Gaming Disorder associates with increased striatal volumes in adolescents (Cai et al., 2015) but understudied is how media use in children affects these regions involved in reward and control processes. We hypothesized that media use would associate positively with striatal volumes and externalizing symptoms in school-age children. (Source: Biological Psychiatry)
