Veterinary Public Health (VPH)
I made a post in the Public Health forum but didn't get any replies and the form itself seems pretty dead overall. Does anyone here have any experience with working in Public Health? I'm in undergrad and looking at a Master's in Public Health with a focus on Veterinary Public Health. The program doesn't require a DVM in admission but I'm a little concerned that it would be difficult to get a job later on without a DVM. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NYC Residents Commit Suicide - Lincoln
NYC doctor suicides raise concerns about treatment of resident physicians at Bronx hospital Their deaths have rocked Lincoln, part of the city’s public Health+Hospitals network, and have raised questions about the rigors — and management — of the residency program there. www.nydailynews.com Hope they fire that PD and change the culture there. I’ve heard of malignant programs at that place, but NYC H+H needs to step up and do something, as should ACGME. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

"NYC doctor suicides raise concerns about treatment of resident physicians at Bronx hospital."
Residents have zero leverage in this game and that makes them easy target to be abused by bad programs. It's a sad state of affair. Should I do a Public Health Minor?
I'm starting undergrad this fall as a public health major but I'm thinking of switching to a behavioral neuroscience major instead because it has more MCAT-related courses and instead doing public health as a minor. In general, is this major and minor good for studying for the MCAT/getting into med school? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Need for some advice: DIY Postbacc or program for a career changer
Hi everyone! I am currently an air ambulance pilot/flight instructor. I got my BA in History and Public Health. I have been an EMT for 8 years and have volunteered with hospice patients for the last 6 years. In undergrad, I was a Biology major on the Pre-med track. I took some science classes of which some I withdrew and some I withdrew failed. So I changed my major to something health-related and finished with a cumulative gpa of 2.95. My transcript for the last two years shows an upward... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
