Vanderbilt (75% scholarship) vs Columbia (no $) vs WashU (full tuition scholarship)
Hello! I am having a hard time deciding between these schools and would love some advice. Columbia (no $) Pros: - I have lived in NYC the past few years and enjoy living there/have friends in the area - Columbia seems to have a strong public health emphasis, esp w/ VP&S's close relationship to Mailman - More of a focus on serving underserved communities - I have a background in community organizing and it's easier to imagine staying engaged in local organizing efforts in NYC -... Harvard vs. NYU
Hi!! Thought I knew what I wanted but now feeling really really conflicted and not sure what the right choice in this situation is. For context I'm pretty set on OB/GYN, have lived in TX my whole life, and want to work in academic medicine with focus on public health and policy in the future. Harvard: Pros: P/F for pre-clinical and clerkships, graded for post-clerkships (sub-Is, electives, etc) Controversy about this though?? With some schools going back and some... Should I apply this cycle or wait?
I graduated from undergrad last spring and have been indecisive about applying to medical school. After graduating, I turned down being a scribe because I didn't want to be just limited to med school if I wanted to pursue some other type of public health/health policy route. But then, I kind of didn't know what to do and was pretty stagnant for awhile... I just started AmeriCorps this month in a public health position. Throughout college, I volunteered at the hospital with entrance... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I do this public health research to help my residency app?
MD/MPH student here with an opportunity to get involved in some public health research I'm really interested in, but I'm worried that it would be taking away from something else that would strengthen my residency app. Also, I'm applying for the 2025 match, so I don't know if I'll have something ready to put on ERAS in time. My home program is my #1, and they know I am strongly interested. Other nearby programs with a mix of academic and community follow (will do 1 away). I know a language...
