Omicron
Have we finally reached the other side of the pendulum? We started with a deadly disease that we knew nothing about, and the crazies were most likely those that wanted to do absolutely nothing to protect themselves. Then as time progressed it seemed to be a fairly balanced argument, freedom vs a lesser public health threat, risks of shut downs and mandates vs unsure benefits, etc. Now I feel we have completely finished the swing the other way to the other extreme such as unnecessary... Does being disabled make you underrepresented in medicine (URM)?
Hi! I'm a sophomore at Hopkins studying public health with a physical disability. My main EC's are various disability advocacy projects in disability policy and digital accessibility at the state and national level for which I've received recognition for internationally. Even my public health research is disability-focused. I plan to apply to medical school in the 2024-2025 cycle (I graduate in Spring 2024) to become an advocate for others with disabilities within the healthcare system. I... PA school applicant with low GPA
Hi there, Really just a quick general question to ease my own mind. This is my second cycle applying to PA school. I was told to do better on the GRE (I did well, but not GREAT) and to complete my last science pre-req with an A (I did, biochem). I currently hold a Master of Public Health and much of my HCE comes from direct care and work with patients in clinical trials and working with physicians/ provider teams in decision-making, outcomes research, and medical evaluations... UCSF (OOS) vs. UPenn
I am applying for the NHSC scholarship but won't know for months. So I guess I have to look at this as paying out of pocket for now... I am super torn between these two... I graduated from a state school in Florida and enjoy the feel of one, but it has also been my dream to go IVY. I am really open to location, I like the east coast and don't mind the cold, have only been to Cali twice to LA. I plan to go into Dental Public Health and outreach dentistry, so I am looking for valuable... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
