Dentist Wanting to Switch to Medicine
Hi Everyone, I am a practicing dentist of a couple years seriously contemplating going to medical school. Long story short, I find no fulfillment in my career as a dentist and feel burnt out despite only practicing a few years. I find what I do is not meaningful and appreciated by my community, my family, my patients, and most importantly, myself. I have worked in many settings from public health to private practices catering to different socioeconomic and diverse populations. While before... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Best place to find free CME?
My employer grants 2 weeks of CME time per year. I already have all of my 150 CME credits, but I need to find some sort of course that takes approximately that amount of time to complete (i.e. roughly 80 hours total of CME). The course does not have to give official CME Credits, and does not have to just medicine (i.e. it could be public health, medical documentation, medical-legal etc.). I am having a hard time finding courses which are free or are a reasonable price. If I had to, I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Identifying realistic/match public health schools for 2023 cycle?
Hi, I'm finalizing my list of schools to apply to for the 2022-2023 cycle and I was wondering how to ensure I have a decent amount of "realistic" schools in the mix. I'm applying straight out of undergrad with a 3.2 cumulative GPA, 3.7 public health major GPA and research experience. From what I saw on the spreadsheet of SDN members who've applied to public health schools, most people with my cumulative GPA have been coming in with work experience of some kind. Finances are also a concern... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
