Buyer be warned I know ! anyone work for them in icu in Dallas ? Napa icu in Atlanta? I know they’re skimming, but they’re offering reasonable salaries and reasonable hours in these hard to break into cities. Yes, anesthesia is easier to do, but it’s less of a headache dealing with my APPs in icu than crna in OR for me. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cluster Headaches and Medical School, Residency, and Life as a Physician
Hello! I'm not seeking any medical advice, but I AM seeking to hear about experiences of those with cluster headaches who are in med school, residency, or working physicians. How has it affected your education and work life? Did you struggle in school or work? Did you ever need or seek any accommodations? Did you mention cluster headaches in your applications or interviews or is it something that should be kept secret even though it's a huge challenge? I'd love to hear more than... Weird Blood Patch Request - scan included
From a neurosurgeon Story: She had a fusion many years ago In 2019, the neurosurgeon re-imaged her for axial pain and there was a seroma and post fusion changes. He then re-fused her. During surgery noted that the epidural fluid collection was in continuity with intradural space, so called it a meningocele and closed the defect. A month later, presented with positional headaches and clear fluid leaking from her back. Re-explored surgically. "A pin-point rent was found along the left... Safety Goggles
I've poked around some of the old threads, but didn't find anything I loved and wanted to try asking again — does anyone have recommendations for chemically sealed (i.e. COVID-proof, to the extent possible) lab goggles for hospital PPE wear, available for individual purchase, that give minimal headaches and are decently adjustable? Thank you in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PDPH EBP vs SPG.... LMNOP
Hey all, Someone just recently posted something about SPG block in PDPH and that reminded me about it. I have heard there's loose evidence out there that says SPG is a viable alternative to EBP. I'm wondering, does anyone do these as part of their practice? What are your experiences? Is it worth incorporating? Please share dosing/technique too. I did it on a moderate severity PDPH on a normal BMI lady who had a 3 attempt labor epidural, converted to c section. Headache was frontal... PDPH EBP vs SPG.... Does Undergrad school choice matter
Does which university you go to matter for getting into dental school? Or is it irrelevant and grades more important for an applicant? I know schools usually only accept a certain amount of CC credits, so I'm planning to go straight to a university to avoid headache and complications when applying. I'm looking at which universities are cheapest in my area and found one but I'm concerned if it will single me out as "oh you went to XYZ ". With Dental School tuition expensive and increasing... Weird case
Did an L5-S1 interlam on a seemingly normal 31 year old guy with a central disc at the same level. Calls almost a week later with complaints of severe positional headache not relieved by fluids, caffeine, Tylenol or Advil. Saw him yesterday, says headaches are intermittent but severe and only relieved by ice and laying down. Here are the pics. Doesn’t look like a wet tap at all, but can’t deny the complaints of spinal headache. To blood patch or not to blood patch. Explained to him in... Weird case (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dentistry can be a grind. The whole work life balance thing is overrated
There are many other professions that pay similarly or more that don’t have the headaches dentistry has. I remember most of my classmates saying they chose dentistry due to the hours and workload MDs have to deal with. But looking at dentistry not sure it is much better. The median pay is obviously much worse. But it seems only a few of us dentists are willing to acknowledge this. Saving face is unfortunately a big thing in our profession. Wet tap, COVID + patient
Good Evening, need to pick your collective brains... Patient s/p NSVD with a labor epidural. Develops a spinal headache. Would you do a blood patch if the patient is COVID positive (asymptomatic). If not, other options (cosyntropin? blood patch with saline?) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Always review the images yourself
I posted this to the images thread but I’m not sure that actually gets seen now that it’s in the side bar (at least on the mobile website). I think this is a very important lesson for residents and fellows (and maybe a reminder for people stuck in the grind) that every so often we have a chance to really make a difference. Also, review the images yourself. This patient came to me yesterday for severe neck pain and headaches, progressive for 6 months. She came in a wheelchair, could barely...
