Review of primary superficial soft tissue mesenchymal tumors of malignant or intermediate biological potential
AbstractThe majority of the sarcomas are deep in location, larger than 5  cm in size, and heterogenous in imaging appearance. However, when sarcomas occur superficially, these typical features may be absent, failing to alert the radiologist to a malignancy and mimicking one of the more numerous benign superficial tumors that make up the bulk of soft tissue mass evaluati ons. This manuscript will discuss the current role of imaging in recognizing features concerning for superficial soft tissue sarcomas. Provided is an overview of the demographic, clinical, and imaging features of the most commonly encountered superficial s...

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the axilla with breast cancer: A case report
CONCLUSION: Attention should be paid to multiple primary malignant neoplasms, not limited to the current diagnosis and analysis, avoiding missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.PMID:36579098 | PMC:PMC9791521 | DOI:10.12998/wjcc.v10.i34.12678 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)

Pulmonary Artery Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma Mimicking a Large Pulmonary Embolism
A 39-year-old man presented with progressive dyspnea and lower extremity edema. Doppler ultrasound demonstrated bilateral leg partially occluded venous thromboses. A V/Q scan revealed a mismatched perfusion defect involving the entire right middle and lower lobes. Subsequent CT pulmonary angiogram revealed a mass lesion occluding the right interlobar pulmonary artery. Endobronchial ultrasound–guided fine-needle aspiration of the mass was concerning for neoplasm. 18F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated marked hypermetabolism of the mass lesion. Patient underwent transmediastinal right pneumonectomy with histopathologic diagnosis of p...

Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma: Report of two cases, initially construed as sarcoma with unusual clinico-pathological features
Indian J Pathol Microbiol. 2022 Oct-Dec;65(4):921-924. doi: 10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_1468_20.ABSTRACTAngiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is a rare soft tissue tumor of uncertain differentiation with low metastatic potential, most commonly occurring in children, adolescents, and young adults, involving extremities. Due to its rare nature and diverse presentation, both clinically and morphologically, it is often misdiagnosed. It becomes important to correctly diagnose this lesion, given its distinct therapeutic implications. Here, we present the clinical, radiologic, and pathologic findings of two rare cases of AFH. Since AFH is...
