Epidermal inclusion cyst embedded in benign fibrous histiocytic lesion with prominent epithelioid morphology
Indian J Pathol Microbiol. 2023 Oct-Dec;66(4):842-844. doi: 10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_775_21.ABSTRACTBenign fibrous histiocytoma also known as dermatofibroma is one of the common mesenchymal neoplasms. It commonly develops in young adult with female predominance and predilection for the extremities, particularly lower extremities. Implantation of epidermis in the dermis or subcutaneous tissues may lead to the formation of epidermal inclusion cyst, which is the most common type of epithelial cyst. Development of epidermal inclusion cyst within a benign fibrous histiocytoma is a rare occurrence. This is a unique case of two unrelate...

Case Report: Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma in the hand: a rare clinical presentation and diagnostic challenge
We present a case of a 59-year-old woman with AFH in the hand that was difficult to diagnose. A benign soft tissue tumor was suspected on magnetic resonance imaging, and its size and open biopsy suggested nodular fasciitis or inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor. A diagnosis of AFH was eventually made based on the analysis of the resected specimens. The characteristic findings of histopathology and immunohistochemistry in this case were relatively poor, so fluorescence in situ hybridization contributed to making the correct diagnosis. Considering its prognosis, careful follow-up was decided upon without additional surgery. O...

P105 Fibrous histiocytoma of the hard palate – clinico-pathological description of a rare tumour with literature review
Fibrous histiocytoma (FH) is a soft tissue tumour which can occur throughout the body. Its presence in the oral cavity is rare and diagnosis requires the use of histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis. There have only been 59 cases reported in English language literature to date. (Source: The British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

Malignant primary tumors of scalp with cranial extension: multidisciplinary surgical strategies and outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: A multidisciplinary approach with aggressive neurosurgical resection is associated with good outcomes in patients with primary malignant scalp tumors, despite invasive disease on presentation. This analysis suggests that aggressive resection (level II and higher) is effective at reducing locoregional recurrence and is not associated with a higher risk of complications relative to resection without craniectomy. As most patients require scalp reconstruction to close the postresection defect, usually with vascularized free tissue transfer, involving a plastic surgeon in the surgical planning and execution is esse...
